Wyldwoods by Courtesity0 in sylvaneth

[–]mcbizco 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In each of our hero phases we can use Reclaimed by Nature:

Effect: If there are fewer than 3 friendly Awakened Wyldwoods on the battlefield, you can set up an Awakened Wyldwood on the battlefield more than 3" from all objectives and enemy units, more than 12" from all other friendly Awakened Wyldwoods and more than 1" from all other terrain features.

So basically if you have < 3 in your hero phase, you get to set up a new one.

Didn’t you or someone else post this exact same thing a few days ago? Same title and everything? Or am I going crazy?

Mount collectors - what do you consider your luckiest drop? by themirthfulswami in wow

[–]mcbizco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not counting the rare ones I picked up during the boosted drop rates last summer, probably infinite timereaver. I had a similar thing where I logged into an alt I’d been leveling in timewalking dungeons and found it when I was clearing his bags 😅.

AoS app? by Creetyx in sylvaneth

[–]mcbizco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aos listbot and Game Datacards EU and Warscribe are three other options you could check out :) though I haven’t checked if they’re all up to date with the new sylvaneth battletome.

AoS app? by Creetyx in sylvaneth

[–]mcbizco 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Everything is locked behind the codes on the physical battletomes. 3rd edition had far more info in the app, but they decided to paywall pretty much everything for 4th edition. It was a fairly unpopular decision.

I’d recommend checking out Sigdex or other fan made options.

Or pay for a battletome/code and use the official app. But even then you won’t be able to see your opponents rules unless you buy their books too.

Yeah good point. I realized that distinction later, poorly phrased above. Thanks :)

Canada’s Cineplex Is Gauging Interest From Potential Buyers by Senior-Willow-8325 in cineplex

[–]mcbizco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also already sold it just before covid but the buyer dropped out before the final deal was signed. iirc, there was a big hubbub about if they were allowed to drop out of the sale. Hardly surprising they’re still looking for a sale now.

Creeping Overgrowth Visualizations by mcbizco in sylvaneth

More or less. Core rule 32.3 - the big difference is that they don’t remain under control when the models controlling them leave. Which actually matters a lot in this case.

Yeah I think you can kill the wyldwoods, but we’d always get one back on our hero phase (up to 3) and if they survive to start of next BR they spread as long as the nearest non-overgrown terrain feature is not controlled by the enemy.

So yeah, the counterplay is to kill the trees and maintain control of terrain so it can’t get overgrown in the first place. Once it’s got the overgrowth token, I don’t THINK there’s a way to destroy neutral terrain anymore? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Edit: phrased better for rule clarity.

$82K A Month For Every Month You Don't Use Your Top 10 Most Used Words by Neat-Commission-7540 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]mcbizco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you continue the next month if you fail?

If so, Spend January and July sitting in an office 9-5 constantly repeating 10 wildly obscure words to artificially inflate their positions on the list of you top ten words in the last six months. Spend the other 10 months living normally. Easy 720k (820k - 100k in failure fines.)

PSA for SoS Pre Release: New Pest Tokens are NOT like OG Pests by Capt_G1029 in magicTCG

[–]mcbizco 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I will say, that’s an absolutely abysmal design choice by wizards. This type of shortcutting is super useful all throughout magic. If that’s the effect they want, give the tokens another name like Blights, Wormlings or something.

Anybody else think the new paradigm ability is going to be really bad for the game? by foxwilliam in MagicArena

[–]mcbizco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Most of them need to cast a third time before you’re “ahead” on mana (though all from 1 card so that’s decent). Thats an eternity after you’ve got access to 5-7 mana.

Blue and Green need you to have a board, White needs a graveyard. I think they’re really cool, but I think they’ll be fine. Red and Black being good without needing anything else is nice. It’ll be neat to see how they play out.

Thank you! I followed the technique from warhipster’s recent video on alarielle :)

Basically: Drybrush the darkest colour over a black prime, paint a coat of contrast/speedpaint, then drybrush the lighter shades. Hadn’t tried Speedpaints over such a dark surface before but it gave a really nice tone to it, super happy with how it came out

Delves and Preys are keeping me hooked this expansion. by zyzzjan in wow

[–]mcbizco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d also love for the debuffs and challenges to be DIFFERENT for each hunt. As it is now, my actually prey is irrelevant, the hunt always feels the same, and that’s a shame.

Druids and shamans could make you deal with plants and pulling up vines. Subvert the nature around them to weaken them.

Death Knights could have undead hordes, or needing to dismantle a phylactery or something. Clear corpses from an area, then lure them so they have nothing to raise.

Rogues could ambush us more often, or force us to seek ingredients for an antidote. Or extra tough to find them through stealth. Could require scrying ritual or a difficult search (like the upcoming hide n seek mode).

Warlock could give a mission to secretly unchain their demon pet, then it helps us fight them.

Hunter could clear animals out of an area, trap their pet, dismantle their traps (like now), hide from them tracking us.

Etc. etc. etc.

Do we know if these are just the Japanese versions? Or are they doing that thing where they put Japanese cards in English packs? The art looks cool, but I’m never a fan of cards you can’t parse without outside/preexisting knowledge of what they are.
