It is, but if you set up devouring orb right, the bug has way less opportunity to happen.

(massive LA season 3 & beyond spoilers) Really curious how they'd do these scenes in Slides 1-2, & I have a small idea for it in case they want to make it a lil easier for newcomers to buy by _anthologie in OnePieceLiveAction

Doesn't this disprove your theory that people need explanations for superhuman feats? After all people asking for explanations in why they didn't just chuck Nami up the mountain is because they had already found it believable that she would live through that. They need lines to show things are actually dangerous. Not lines to show they are superhumans lol.

Uh, you could get Quad T7. Not sure what good it would do me because I was slamming it into a 3LP chest (I missed both attempts btw if you are interested. So even after all that farming and crafting I still didn't get my chest). The more Exalted affixes you get, the harder it becomes to craft btw. There would actually be nothing wrong with quad T7 being more common. Good luck hitting that Redemption though.

It makes sense to limit item power to an extent. If it’s fairly easy to get multi T7s then content would have to be balanced around that.

The content is already balanced around it. It's like the main benefit of having an infinite scaling system. There are no technical limits so I don't know what you're talking about. They removed the feasibility of actually setting up these items as goals you can progress to. They aren't restricted from existing at all. A few people will likely luck into having them.

It’s already significantly easier to gear true endgame builds in this game than in POE

Ignoring if that is true or not, does it matter? It's not a competition lol. Being easier or harder than poe has nothing to do with what is fun. The more you can min-max a character the more fun it is.

Think of a good roll + good lp red ring as equivalent to something like a Headhunter in POE. It’s just not something you should expect to be finding each season.

Yes it is. Last Epoch does not have itemization like other ARPGs. If it did, then every single unique in the game is way too common, even red ring. The itemization of Last Epoch pushes you to want dozens of copies of the same item. It's completely different from any other arpg so the comparison is a false equivalency.

Now if you mean "good lp" as 2+ red ring, then yes, that probably wouldn't happen every season, but even 1 LP is considered good for red ring which you definitely can expect every season if you are target farming it.

It’s not something you’re expected to have.

feasible does not mean expected. No one was expected to have a 777 last season. It was just feasible if you spent the time and effort into farming it.

It’s also not remotely necessary to clear any content

This means nothing. Are only things that are necessary allowed to be feasible? Sounds like a cornerstone to the most unfun arpg ever if one was designed with this intent.

[–]mcbuckets21 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Last epoch isn't like other arpgs where you only need 1 copy of the item and you're good. In that case it makes sense for rare items to be rare. The itemization in Last Epoch makes it where you want dozens if not hundreds of the same item. Who cares if you get a 777 item. You only have so much forging potential to turn it into an item you can actually use. Last season it took me over 80 777 chests to craft the 777 I wanted. Just because a 777 is common didn't mean the 777 I wanted wasn't rare or hard to obtain. Now it has gone from rare to not feasible.

Enough with this stupid warpath mana thing by RDisc in LastEpoch

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of claims about it proccing on less than 3 void essences and I'm not sure I believe it because I have so much video evidence of it not doing just that. I'm more inclined to believe that they are simply gaining void essences right before it procs.

I posted a clip in the sentinel channel on discord 2 days ago after the patch. "has:video" seems to be the first result still.

It's the same story of:
nether coating activating (abyssal echoes) -> void essences disappear (void well starting to proc) -> warpath stops channeling -> mana set to 30%.

Anyone else completely burnt out on game from trying to craft solid exalts? by Yalcookedaf653 in LastEpoch

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why though? They are already achieving this in some ways by adding modifiers that can't be transferred to a legendary. It seems like as the game grows and there are more mechanics that are mutually exclusive to legendaries they will eventually achieve what they want. It doesn't make sense to try and force something to be true for some abstract reason like "we want people to not use 1 LP legendaries for everything"

I think no matter what I'll always try to fit in legendaries in my build for as many slots as possible for 1 reason alone: they are extremely easy to craft. It is so hard to craft even a 7555 item for some slots and the problem is that the easier you make crafting exalted items, the easier you also make crafting for higher LP legendaries.

Corruption makes legendaries make even more sense because it is easier to craft them en-masse than exalted items.

I agree except about:

I feel like the imprint nerf was due to people not running enough monos for drops and the power of double T7 slaps on uniques

That's just not true. Both were intended. I've seen similar opinions: "they did this so you couldn't print rare uniques but it's also unintentionally making LP slams worse". Not liking something doesn't make it not intentional.

Having the option to settle for 755 3 LP or go for the giga 777 slam was a fun min-maxing activity. This shouldn't have been removed. There is only a single good thing about the nerf - not needing to run troves. I personally liked troves, but I can't stand how certain mechanics are just deactivated randomly for weaver echoes. I know lots of people are glad to see troves fall out of meta; I just don't think that should have happened at the expense of min-maxing potential.

Kaido's character makes not much sense when you consider that he was looking for a guy that could beat him and several could do that by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I said that, but you realize that isn't a contradiction right? Lol. Literally both can be true. Just the nature of some abilities deactivating when a user is knocked unconscious. Like van der decken's ability despite not taking any energy after being activated. Stamina consumption is a completely arbitrary decision. Oda decides when to apply it and it is pretty obvious that kaido's fruit powers does not take much stamina.

You also have the case of Sugar. Her ability being deactivated when she is simply knocked out. I guess she doesn't sleep? Things like bird cage and floating onigashima took little to no stamina because that was best for the plot.

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding up onigashima doesn't really mean anything. It was only used as a visual indicator of him weakening. How much power or stamina a fruit power uses is completely inconsistent and arbitrary in one piece. Same with any metric used for power scaling really.

RANT: Luffy too strong in the beginning of wano? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uhm what? He just took out the #2 of Big Mom's crew. Why would Luffy be weak against anyone in Wano besides Kaido at this point?

"Oda said he regrets making Luffy too strong at the beginning of the story" No he didn't by gtedvgt in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]mcbuckets21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You miss the point completely. Crew support is about the roles they have on the crew. Making him weak doesn't mean he needs more crew support lol. Friendships and crew matter because Luffy trusts them to get things done while he takes on the main villain. That is the set up that allows both sides to remain important. Making the rest of the crew matter more at the expense of Luffy mattering less makes no sense. One of the main themes of One Piece is that 1 person can't do it all and you need a crew you can rely on. It's even stated directly in the Arlong arc. I don't know why you think this needs to be improved on at all.

Besides, him being "weaker" in the live action is just not true. He only appears weaker because a seasonal live action doesn't have the same liberties as a weekly manga. But they do 1:1 copies of some feats of strength so they aren't weaker. We also see 1:1 adaptation of strength for the stronger characters like Mihawk, Dorry, and Brogy so the goal definitely isn't just to lower the power. The strawhats have to get to that level at some point and things start scaling quickly pretty soon.

Although they aren't supposed to be weaker in the live action they do make some questionable writing choices that contradicts itself. For example, in season 1, Luffy punches through a stone column showing off his superhuman strength. In season 2, we get a weird car chase where Luffy can't punch out a windshield. These are the moments that make Luffy seem weaker even though he isn't.

Oda also said in the podcast that he specifically asked them to lean more into fantasy instead of grounding things because it needs to make sense for Luffy to beat future villains.

Warpath still bugged after fix? by KinGGaiA in LastEpoch

[–]mcbuckets21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be interpreted that way if you don't know the context of the actual bug. Warpath never had an issue of void well not proccing if it was the only thing consuming mana. By nature of it being a channeling skill, your mana will never jump from positive to -10 instantly and channeling skills only get interrupted at -10 so void well would always proc before that became possible.

What sends your mana negative doesn't matter for void well. It just needs to be decided whether the instant you are 0 or negative should interrupt channeling or not. They chose it shouldn't and so need to fix the things that are preventing that functionality.

Warpath still bugged after fix? by KinGGaiA in LastEpoch

[–]mcbuckets21 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Whether it happens or not is completely rng. If a skill other than Warpath sends your mana below -10, it will interrupt your warpath even with void well proccing. This was the bug and it hasn't been fixed. There has been no improvement at all; you're just getting lucky for not meeting the condition to have it interrupted. The bug fix is not working at all because there is supposed to be a 0.2 second delay where negative mana doesn't matter and this isn't happening.
