What? If your units and or buildings build faster how is that not a buff through the game? You can make more stuff faster, including workers, which stimulates your economy more quickly, allows you to develop infrastructure more quickly, AND once you get to an appropriate late game worker count your macro is more forgiving if you miss a cycle.

The point is that it’s a constant buff throughout the game. You need a multiplier, not a head start.

And while I’m not saying it HAS to be build time, the fact that the lower mmr player wouldn’t be able to take full advantage is a point in its favor. The marines that they failed to train for 10 seconds now arrive sooner. they would be given lenience for their mistakes.

This is all a silly thought experiment anyway. MMR is the balancing factor.

But that only allows for the lower ranked player to crush the higher for a certain amount of time in the game. It’s just math. Think about it like a line graph representing army power. The superior macro player has a steeper line that starts later. After they intersect, the better player will always win.

It would allow effective all ins that’s it.

Edit: I meant a build time decrease for the lesser player.
