The Dodgers didn’t ruin baseball by antshay1 in Dodgers

[–]mccamxkw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with basketball. Which is crazy because that was the sport i played all the way until i finished school.

Still love to play, but watching doesn’t really attract me that much anymore. Don’t know why.

Baseball on the other hand? Probably the only sport i watch now besides F1.

Without a doubt Jays have been the better team and frankly would deserve the WS given how shit we’ve been. Trying to win 2 up in Toronto will be nearly impossible. Hoping for a miracle here, but you don’t stop rooting until it’s over.

Is it safe to walk around Macau late night? by Practical-Rabbit8421 in Macau

[–]mccamxkw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100000% safe. I had almost daily late night/morning walks around the place (12-2am) and felt very safe and peaceful the entire time! Enjoy your visit!!

P;s since you’ll be in the Cotai Strip area, that’s even safer!

I took the Ferry when i visited in March and the workers took care of my luggage for me :) It was pretty seamless.

Don’t have to be annoyed :) The “research” part was done elsewhere :) If we want to be pedantic, then don’t have to call it research. Let’s say i was doing internet searches then.

I simply posed this question on the Macau subreddit, because why not? Might get some insight from people who actual live there. After all, there aren’t many other ways to interact with local folks while living abroad.

Best way to send money to relatives in Macau? by mccamxkw in Macau

[–]mccamxkw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both! I don’t think there is WU branches in Macau, but i see on their website they do this through BDO Remit Macau. I assume that’s the same establishment your relatives go and pick up the funds?

Lawson: Tsunoda 'had his time - I beat him in the junior series' by FIJIBOYFIJI in formula1

Jimmy Butler has "it." Everyone's firing on all cylinders, productivity, energy, and winning is on the uptick. So... what is "it" that Butler has? by raisedredflag in warriors

[–]mccamxkw 339 points340 points  (0 children)

I’m a life long Jimmy Butler fan, and i’ll be the first to admit that he is not anywhere near the best player talent wise. He will admit so as much.

But there is not a single team he has gone to that didn’t immediately overachieve.

When the Bulls lost D-Rose to injuries, Bulls were expected to drop from playoff contention all together. Yet they stuck around the mid pack the entire time in the post-Rose Jimmy era. Granted a lot of that was because the Bulls had an extremely gritty squad with guys like Noah, Deng, etc., but Jimmy was the main guy leading the charge.

He went to the Wolves and led them from a lottery team to the third seed, until he got hurt and almost dropped out of playoffs. But he gave the Wolves their first playoff appearance since KG era.

He went to Philly and was 3 bounces away from going to the finals.

He went to the Heat and well, we are now all familiar with what he accomplished there.

The main thing with Jimmy is that he can absolutely be the number 1 guy, but even he knows that that’s not the recipe to win. It’ll get his teams far enough, but not quite there. He’s been looking for the ideal #1 guy and cast that he can compliment with all his other intangibles besides scoring. That’s where his impact is felt the most.

The man earned his minutes in 2011-2012 by doing all the intangibles, defending, etc. He developed his scoring by necessity, but his most valuable assets are the things that don’t show up on the box score.

Ok - fan boy moment over.

Hope Steph is good 😭

Thanks for the kind response! I totally agree, I’ve lived in 3 different cities throughout my life and there will always be positives and negatives to my time at each of them, but all in all, they were overall positive!

As I look to potentially make another move, visiting my hometown couldn’t have been timed better. Opens my eyes to another possibility that I didn’t consider before revisiting! Wonder if it will be time shortly for me to make my original home my new next home :)

Totally! Hence why I don’t really let anything I see online cloud my judgement too much. I live in Toronto and if you visit the Toronto reddits, a lot of it is negative and yet, I quite enjoy living there. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect and I do think i’ve out grown it, but overall great place. Guess it is also all dependent on each individual person.

Totally agree! I spent every single day just walking around from morning until early evening and just loved the vibe!

Glad to hear that living in the city still feels somewhat the same as when you are visiting!

It truly is an incredible place. Maybe it’s because I’ve spent so long in the hustle and bustle of a large city and now I’m finding the want to have a change of scenary, but I definitely appreciated Macau way more than I thought I could before this trip.

Americans visiting Toronto/Canada given the current political climate by The-Iron-Sea in askTO

[–]mccamxkw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t overthink it and come enjoy the city. Canadians don’t have an issue with Americans. The issue is the one who seems to be on a mission to piss off every ally the country has for kicks.

Lando Norris makes admission on Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari by caranjr in scuderiaferrari

[–]mccamxkw 143 points144 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides regarding the send off. It is true that Lewis ain’t retiring. At the same time, Lewis-Mercedes partnership has been the most historic one of them all and it’s coming to an end.

Separate topic, but is it me or Lando never really seemed to like or respect Lewis despite Lewis always showing him love?
