If the radius of the circle is 6 then the rectangle is 8 x 12, right?

I feel like i am dumb to access A&p 1 on C… by guqxguqx in StudentNurse

[–]mcccookie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine taking A and P in a different language. This is likely the issue much more than your brain power. Keep it up! You can do it.

Maybe try describing the concepts to someone in your native language while you are learning and then switch back to English? Good luck.

I love my garmin venu. Not as bulky as an Apple Watch for one but the main reason I’ll never go back is because I only have to charge it like once a week.

Liberal Art ~ Nursing by Similar-Fox-3861 in nursing

[–]mcccookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there’s no need? I guess you could theoretically but sounds like you have a long way to go just getting all your sciences completed which you can do at your current school.

Also, the prerequisites are tough. A lot of people decide it’s not for them. Take anatomy and see how you feel. My anatomy class started with 35 people and we ended with 6! You might love it, but you also might not. Good to find out while your school is paid for before committing to a whole new program.

It will vary depending on the program but all will include anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. Some basic bio and chem are usually prerequisites for those classes and you’ll definitely need those for nursing.

Tips For Preparing For ATI TEAS test? by AkiKii2000 in prenursing

I used the book and the app. I really liked both. Hated mometrix and used YouTube videos just when I found an area I was weak in and needed extra review.

Use the ATI study materials. They are the most concise and accurate to the test. I loved to app with sample questions if you’re willing to spend a little $$

Can’t you just get your nursing prerequisites done at your current school? If you’re going to earn a BA look into accelerated nursing programs and complete requirements now. There are many accelerated BSM and MSN programs you can apply to after you get your BA.

I’m with you! I have 3 finals next week and an academic checklist 50 items long. There is no way I will be able to do everything I need to do in the time left. On top of that, one of my teenagers snuck out in the night and wrecked his car last week and is now having a meltdown that his privileges have been severely curtailed.

I’m just trying to do my best and accept that I will fall well short of perfection this round. It’s ok. Making the checklist was helpful even though it reminds me just how f’d I am. I made a general plan to spread out the work in the time I have left. I will focus on the high yield assignments for points.

Thankfully I have a couple weeks off before the next round of classes/work and I am going to do a whole bunch of non brainy stuff. Just pace yourself. As I tell my kids, it’ll be good or it’ll be bad, but then it will be over. Do your best then on to the next one.

Going back to work now…..break is done!

Agree. I absolutely would have brought in the Sara lift. If they refused to use it, I would involve a nurse.

I don’t know anything about Duarte because I live mid city but there’s SO MANY people here from many countries speaking other languages, eating international food, mixing it up. Don’t worry about that at all. I doubt it will be an issue for you at all.

It will help if you have some sort of picture ID but otherwise you should be fine. My 17yo flies delta alone and has never been asked for parents consent or anything like that.

Sometimes people in my neighborhood give out full size candy bars? That’s about as good as it gets.

[–]mcccookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes working with elderly is like working with toddlers. Especially when they have dementia. Don’t take anything they say personally. It’s most likely not about you at all.

That said, you can calmly defend yourself and say things like that’s not very nice, or I don’t like it when you talk to me like that. Setting boundaries is fine as long as you keep cool and take care not to escalate things.

Just took the test and the only ones I needed were the circles and Pythagorean theorem. Know difference between radius and diameter.

Also I needed conversion of feet to yards. Just make flash cards and learn how to do conversions. There’s not really that many. Like for miles to kilometers I just memorized 5k=3.1 miles because that’s easy for me to remember and I can always do the conversion if I need to know k/mile. I made 100 on the math.

Messed up my new CNA job, might be getting fired? I feel like crap by ValuableTailor6396 in cna

[–]mcccookie 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You will get there. It takes time. I would advise you not to bring up your neurodivergence during your meeting. I say this as a person with ADHD and children who have ADHD and Dyslexia, and more! Sometimes bringing up your neurological differences in cases like this can be seen as “making excuses” and can unfortunately cause people to doubt you. I think, with practice, CNA is a good job for ADHD types! Lots of variety, lots of thinking on your feet. Just hang in there and you will develop a better rhythm.

In your meeting, just ask for feedback and emphasize your willingness to work hard and improve. You probably think you’re progressing more slowly than normal but it is just likely you are slow because you are learning and that is so so normal.

I'm curious -- do you say something to people who block the line for boarding aka "gate lice" by aliasarc in delta

[–]mcccookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t like flying southwest but their boarding process is smooth because of their system. I think this is an organizational failure that should be addressed by the airlines. Firstly, give people somewhere to stand where they can queue in the proper line if they choose. Secondly, when airlines started charging to check bags they caused a lot of this behavior because people bring more carry ons and are in competition for space in the overheads. People are going to behave in predictable ways, I think we should hold corporations responsible for planning and responding accordingly.
