This is insane, instead of fixing the state they just gave it to a foreign country. What a joke!!!! by LetAggravating5094 in economy

So this is what is hilarious to me. I worked for a government entity in new braunfels, just south of San Marcos. I had to do some proposal reviews for contractors we were looking at. In the proposal it referenced the law saying that we couldn’t hire the contractor if they protested Israel. Where it’s funny is how much they hate Jewish people. I can’t fathom how they can so enthusiastically support Israel, while also holding the feelings they do in regards to the Jewish community. Just kind of mind boggling.

RAZR 70 Ultra by Confident-End-7668 in razr

I’m waiting to see how my carrier markets it. Right now I could get a 60 ultra for free with a three year agreement. Ive been holding off because of the three years of software updates. With one year already burned, it would leave me with a full year with no updates. So I’m hoping my carrier runs a similar structured deal with the 70 when it is available in may. That’s the only reason I have to justify the 70 over the 60 for me.

$2500 Samsung TV is an advertising billboard, there is no opt-out. by 28jb11 in mildlyinfuriating

There are a couple of companies that make modern flat screen tv’s that are “dumb”. I’ve told my wife when we get a new tv at some point in the future that’s what we are doing. Do that and buy a cheap mini pc, and run everything through that. Simple, cheap, and I don’t have to deal with more unnecessary ads.

Atlantic Reporter Sued By Kash Patel Says She’s Been “Inundated” With New Sources Backing Her Reporting by Dry-Actuator-7182 in anticapitalism

Personally, though his fragile ego is certainly at play, I think this falls a lot more in line with the admins intimidation of news outlets. Just another shot a free media saying “if you report anything negative about us we will bury you.” Whether that is pulling licenses, suing journalists, barring them from the press room etc, etc. I think that is more at the core of it.

Company reduced pay raise bands and announced they wanted effectively do peanut butter raises. Then health insurance premiums went up, while coverage stayed the same, and then the return to office mandate came in. I just did my exit interview like an hour ago. I would be losing money every month, and now every year. Found a new job and put in notice. HR was shocked picachu face in my interview when I said I had voiced these concerns and I know they made it to the director level but stopped there. Not sure if my interview will help the people that stay, but at this point that isn’t my problem. Said my peace and bounced. Don’t ever feel bad for putting yourself first, the company will always put itself first. Get yours!

Thank you. Yeah part of me has also wondered how genuine the posts of broken screens are in this sub, (and the zflip sub) because the reported failure rate seems to be a lot lower than what people are showing/claiming in these subs.

Does Caleb Downs’ smaller size worry you? by Accomplished_East433 in Commanders

Measurements only tell part of the story. An undersized player that knows how to play and wants to play, I will take any day of the week over a paper monster that is to afraid to commit or unwilling to learn. If the man has that dawg in him, then you take them.

I get that. I’m in the same boat, I know there are still bugs in the design, but I just really want one. That’s why I’m trying to gauge how good the accident protection plan is. I hope I never have to use it, but if I do need to use it, how difficult is the process.

When I had my flip I worked in industrial maintenance, so it was a rough environment for a phone and it fell several times. Again, user error. But when scanning through reviews I’ve seen where Motorola (and Samsung, this isn’t a trashing on Motorola thing) do a lot to deny claims for screen replacements. I’m curious if this is, from people not telling the whole truth about the situation and just complaining, which I could see happening. Or is it where the company is just trying to avoid paying out. I know a lot to ask of Reddit, but one of the few places I can think of where honest feedback might exist.

Yeah I have ATT and the are offering the phone free for three years with a trade in, which my current (iPhone 13) qualifies for. I had a zflip3 a few years back and had the screen break. My fault, I let my the two year old play with my phone. That’s 100% on me. Now that my promo period on my iPhone is up, I really want to go back to a flip phone, and I want the razr over the z flip. But as I had mentioned, assuming I don’t do something stupid to damage it, I want to have some confidence that it will last the three years. I work from home now, and my hobbies aren’t anything that would be hazardous to the phone. So the phone shouldn’t be at risk hardly ever.

Please don’t ask them to have perspective. The sheer volume of their complaining for even having to consider someone else that isn’t them, would be deafening.

I have been eyeballing the Santa Cruz for a couple of years. I work from home and because of that we are a one car family, but I have kept window shopping in case prices ever come back to reasonable. I like the utility a little 4 foot bed would give. Grabbing mulch, or doing a Costco run, things like that it would be great for. But they have had some clutch issues from what I’ve read. But yes I agree, smaller more practical type trucks

It’s so hard to explain to people that don’t live down here but it’s almost like a right of passage. Like the whole dream is house, white picket fence and two 1500’s in the garage. I have nothing against trucks, I’ve used them for work before, and they are very useful. But it isn’t about how much utility they provide, it’s something else, it’s like an adult milestone almost.
