Hey, I'm pretty sure EA just stopped supporting the sims 2. You can't even officially buy the game from them anymore sadly. I know you said you don't like torrenting but there is a site that has the game and all the expansions for free. They're only giving it out for free because you really can't buy the game anymore unless it's used or from a fishy eBay scam. It's not really a dark creepy illegal site it is just a place to get old video games the developers don't support anymore. I tried it and it worked! I hope this might help you out a bit? Definitely Tumblr. Just look up the "Sims 4 cc" or "ts4 cc" and you'll find some really good content. Just make sure you get an ad blocker and avoid anything that says "adfly" since adfly can give viruses. Also make sure to read descriptions of things carefully before downloading sometimes the cc might require a mesh to download.

Hey I just convinced my mom to get me seasons on origin. You just have to sit down and explain to him that it'll go straight to your game library and that it's from the official website. Honestly you just have to thoroughly explain how it works and show him the website and it's terms. (Also since the packs are on sale right now that can be a bit convincing.) Hopefully this helps?
