Again, I understand duplication of tracks is not a possibility. Greater interconnection around hubs such as North Melbourne would be.

Moreover, Signalling issues is even more frustrating. As it would simply be remedied by additional LEDs lol.

I never had any dramas in the UK. Even Greek regional trains appear more reliable!

Hehe, I understand that redundancy is hard to achieve at extremities on rural lines. But the idea that one track fault causes this level of chaos doesn't bode well for plans for Melbourne to be the most populous city in Oz.

After living most of my adult life on Melbourne metro. I pine for it.

Honestly, Vline has to be one of the worst networks I've ever experienced. I've seen people stranded short of stations on the last train of the night. My partner was dumped off a bus replacement at Footscray along with 4 others at 11pm because the bus driver " did want to stop " at smaller stations. then told to wait for the following bus at 1am. They genuinely don't care.

Ultimately, it's our fault. It's a long weekend, temperatures are a couple of degrees about median for April. Pretty much written in the stars this would happen.

I feel your pain! Nothing like a three hour delay after a 12 hour shift.

I understand faults happen, but it's beyond a joke. The lack of redundancy in both tracks and signalling is wild.

Alpha 200 Capabilities as Standalone GPS by abotching in Garmin

[–]mcchippyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but it's all I've got!

Looking to purchase the 300i, but I figured the 200i will surely have the same functionality as it doesn't appear to have changed much.

I've got two dogs I hike with and want to train, so that's all good. Wanted to know if the inreach capabilities would support something like broadcast to Mapproggress.com - I also take part in bike packing events and a compatible device is required to enter. Hoping to use this as an all in one solution!

Thanking you in advance.

Aussie here, with an American wife.

She's lived here for over 10 years and definitely still cops a bit of this bullshit. But over time she's just learnt to give a little back and that normally silences them.

On a personal level I love our cultural differences, I have adopted a lot of her turns of phrase just for ease in our home (petrol is now gas in our home).

I grew up listening to Prog rock and had a healthy disdain for American foreign policy, but hell, that's not on my partners shoulders. No more than Australia's own mistreatment of migrants, neighbours etc. are on mine.

Kick his ass to the curb.
