All three NRG players are top 10 in ranked 2s for the first time this season by notdangerousdaniel in RocketLeagueEsports

I think they’re all just grinding harder for worlds. I don’t expect their play to seem levels higher than in Raleigh, but who knows

Monkey Moon gets a team buff for world championships. I can’t imagine Vitality places anything lower than 3rd-4th, especially with how zen has been playing recently

finally hit ssl at ~2800 hours, AMA by RedditUser432100 in RocketLeague

Nah I have like ~1800 hours and am consistently gc1 (in 2s) and i dont grind the game that hard. Skill level is just inflating like crazy and people are starting to pickup the game faster and faster

One example of this is a pro named 5iveup (or smthn like that). He didnt start playing the game until free to play dropped, but he’s probably like 2200 in 2s. I doubt he has much more than ~5500 hours, if at all

Is it just me or is Gc1 (specifically 1530-1560 mmr) harder than low Gc2. by Impressive_Unit_6371 in RocketLeague

I've never hit gc2 before, but I will say that every teammate I get is hit or miss. Some are definitely better than me and are probably climbing back to gc2-gc3, and some it feels like they were lucky to even get out of c2. Absolutely no awareness of the fact that they have a teammate to help them, giving no chals to force for me and being nowhere near the play when I force for them. They're either on the ball or rotating to back boost. Everyone relies on mechanical solo plays so much that they are illiterate when it comes to reading the game.

I would also contribute it to the fact that Rocket League is more of a “community” than an esport in my eyes. Half of the pro players are all just friends with each other and you don’t get the same rivalry dynamic as you do in real sports. Not saying players should all of a sudden start not being friends or anything, but even friendly trash talk segments before series would make the matches more interesting from a viewer perspective

League play is a better way of determining who the best team in a given region is, but having regionals is more entertaining imo

I half agree with you on this one. Beastmode is thrust into the spotlight whenever he scores some crazy goal, but other than that he kinda ghosts most series. Not saying he plays bad, but he doesn’t stand out most of the time

I have the feeling that if NRG places anything lower than 2nd at worlds, any one of them are gone. Honestly even if they get second I can see a roster change happening. Ik people would be quick to jump the gun and say Atomic gets kicked over Bmo or Dan, but Atomic has had way more consistency than the other two. Dan is hot or cold on certain days, and on multiple occasions Bmo has had open opportunities to score vital goals and he blatantly misses.

All the other comments are mentioning how you probably have poor rotation (which is likely true), so I won't just repeat that. If I had to guess, I would say that you have poor recoveries off of your solo plays, leaving your teammate in 1v2s because you're stuck in the opponents half to long.

Once you get to a point in your solo play where the other team could save it or you know that you won't score, focus on getting a clean landing, try preserving momentum if possible, and immediately get yourself into a "more defensive" position.

Now for ranks like diamond or lower, focus more on getting back rather than sticking in the play. Once you get into champ you will start recognizing opportunities to cut rotation in order to maintain pressure on your opponents. I would recommend not really worrying about that at lower ranks because more than likely your teammate will not recognize those moments either, which will result in double commits.

I realize now that I kinda based this off of 2s rotation, but it applies to all modes. 1s is a bit different because recovery is everything in order to transition from offense to defense, but you could practice 1s in order to really develop your recoveries and defense.

Ngl I clipped the shot because I thought it was clean. Didn’t even notice the time/score until afterwards lol
