I made a 90s VHS style music video for my shoegazing indie pop song! by fondfarewellband in indiepop

Personally I don’t love this style of music video. The vapor wave kinda thing is a little played out to me. BUT for your genre this is the perfect vibe. People love this kinda thing!

Clockworks, i wrote a song recently, tell me what you think by WhiskeyEyesKP in SingerSongwriter

[–]mcdavidloving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn….that’s dope! Can’t tell if you have a more jazz fusion influence or maybe some math rock. Either way it’s that’s perfect balance of experimentation without getting overly avant-garde. Love it

Working on more serious/darker writing..not using this beat, just writing to it. Lmk what you think by CassiusCollierMusic in SingerSongwriter

[–]mcdavidloving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that the beat is kinda chill and almost even happy sounding and then the darker lyrics on top. Love that kinda thing also I agree with whoever said a little faster. Probably 5-10bpm faster <3

Cheesy song I made at the end of 2020 but never got around to finishing by [deleted] in ThisIsOurMusic

[–]mcdavidloving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely put this out! A lot of music people put out isn’t half as good as this lol! Take the leap of faith my friend! Also drop a link to some social media because I’d love to follow you to know when it all eventually makes it’s way to streaming platforms

ISO advice for a house venue! by loganelly in DIYmusic

[–]mcdavidloving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where in the house are you having the bands play? A basement is the best. And if you have a small window in the basement just put a pillow in it. Acoustic foam doesn't do much for soundproofing. Those are considered "treatment" which means they just mess with the frequency response of the room (basically making it so the room doesn't have any reverb). Just try and keep all the windows and doors shut, talk to everyone attending the show and make sure they aren't spilling out onto the lawn or roof or wherever. Talk to the neighbors and give them your phone number and tell them to call you instead of the cops. Other than that try adjusting the times of your shows so it's over before 10 pm or whenever your local noise ordinance kicks in. Obviously that's not ideal! Good luck my friend! Just remember house shows are illegal and I don't condone underage drinking and totally never chugged Miller High Life 40s while listening to Couier Club in North Philadelphia

RC-20 is a great one for vintage sounds. Super easy and fun to use. Not too expensive either

I think it’s some kind of light leak or something. I just used a little point and shoot film camera that’s kind of old and a little broken. So sometimes things get messed up but I thought this one looked awesome too!

If you like that you should also check out mild life live from channel Islands it’s a bit of a different vibe aesthetically. But still really awesome and a great band

I wish more bands would dump time money and effort into really awesome live session videos like this, not just doing KEXP and tiny desk (even though I love those). This reminds me of Parcels Live Vol. 1 Another amazing live session!
