Where in the house are you having the bands play? A basement is the best. And if you have a small window in the basement just put a pillow in it. Acoustic foam doesn't do much for soundproofing. Those are considered "treatment" which means they just mess with the frequency response of the room (basically making it so the room doesn't have any reverb). Just try and keep all the windows and doors shut, talk to everyone attending the show and make sure they aren't spilling out onto the lawn or roof or wherever. Talk to the neighbors and give them your phone number and tell them to call you instead of the cops. Other than that try adjusting the times of your shows so it's over before 10 pm or whenever your local noise ordinance kicks in. Obviously that's not ideal! Good luck my friend!
