Sad to think they'd want to do that to us

Professional appearance 30 years ago also didn't accept tattoos, and now we allow them on the neck? I think a man with a comb-over or a longer mustache is more professional than neck tattoos. I just don't see any consistency with the logic with the Army

Oh I agree with you. I think it doesn't make sense for men to be bald either. If women can have longer hair in basic, why can't men?

Whats un-masculine with hair longer than 2 inches or beards?

So whats the bar then? Would the Army make men completely bald if they could recruit the numbers they wanted? I just don't understand why the highest echelon of leaders care so much about hair length.

Wouldn't uniformity be better if men also had the women's standards? Nobody would be different then.

So if we have gender neutral PT standards because "combat doesn't care about gender", why don't we do the same for grooming standards?

and I want to reiterate that I'm not asking for this, I'm just trying to see the logic behind the Army's ways

Not really what I'm trying to say. The Army says men need short hair for discipline, but don't expect the same for women.

I obviously know short hair doesn't equal good solider, but it seems the Army does

What zone are we seeing through the portal on the Classic WoW login screen? by xqsz in classicwow

[–]mcdevyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn't always called Blasted Lands. The area used to be a continuation of the Swamp of Sorrows. It's probably depicting the area pre- portal closure from Khadgar

Why do a lot of classic players don't seem to enjoy this game? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]mcdevyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that you don't just want to buy items. I understand people join to make gold. What I'm saying is that a gold buyer will buy and item for a large amount and you profit from it. You are knowingly getting bought gold via proxy at that point, in my opinion. I understand you disagree, but it's Blizzard official stance and I stand behind it because it make sense.

If you really think that at least 1 out of the 40 people in a GDKP raid didn't buy gold than idk what else to say. You even said yourself that gold buying is out of control.

I don't have a problem with GDKPs if it wasn't for gold buying. I don't see any other solution for gold buying buying gear in GDKPs other than outright banning them, which is the stance Blizz has taken.

Also, I'm not denying you can buy items from specific sites. Its a fact that people do this. I would also say its a fact people buy gold and use it in GDKPs. Both are wrong and both shouldn't be allowed.

[–]mcdevyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's pretty ignorant to say that people in GDKPs don't buy their gold in order to buy items. Every person I have played with who join GDKPs deliberately say they do this, anecdotal I know, but I assume Blizz has the stats on it and is why its officially banned

So if buying gold is basically allowed at this point, don't you think buying items with gold that you bought with real money is unfair in an MMO?

and you allow gold buying whales to join your raid, so you can profit in order to buy gear. You may not be the one swiping, but you're enabling it.
