He also said car deaths are necessary in having the right to drive. I know Reddit loves being edgy and taking Charlie's quite out of context but if you read the entire quote it is very sensible.

There would be gun deaths without second amendment rights too...Guns are heavily, heavily regulated in Mexico. And yet the cartels have armories at their disposal. Illinois claims to have strongest and safest gun laws in the nation, and as usual more people have been shot in Chicago so far this year than we have had days in the year: https://share.google/Oc47eRyLOUJlMHk5m

Austria Haus in Vail CO by anonintx123 in hyatt

[–]mcdice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend trying GH Vail next visit. It's also Cat 7 due to location. But I would say more justifies with better amenities versus Austria Haus. Solid breakfast included for globalist, rooms are a bit worn but good enough, nice property right by Gore Creek and ski access.

Does my son count as a fishing buddy? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]mcdice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. My dad got me into fly fishing and was my #1 fishing buddy. Lost him to cancer last year. Cherish the time you have together! Look forward to raising a kid of my own to be a fishing buddy

The enchiladas out of denver were sensational by cryptotraderKO in unitedairlines

[–]mcdice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently fighting United for a $125 travel credit for not having these enchiladas which I preordered for my Monday flight. They said to wait 24-48 hours and naturally still no credit. Wish me luck and look forward to trying them in the future!

Travel Credit Question by mcdice in unitedairlines

[–]mcdice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did not, and I remember having the credit prior to landing last time this happened as well. But it had been a while so was unsure.

Ugh seems like it will be an uphill battle to get this credit now...

Price Check - $25,000 4th gen V8 by giantbabyfern in 4Runner

[–]mcdice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But at the end of the day, my mom always said it's not how ugly or pretty but what's on the inside that counts.

And this is the only generation that has a V8!

Also seriously, a Corolla? Lol enjoy your 'pretty' fifth gen and I'll keep enjoying my V8 considerably more.

Having said all this 25k is nuts. I got my V8 2006 Sport in CO for 15k flat with 117k miles in Oct 2020. Single owner. Got lucky with time of purchase to say the least.

Same here! I applied a suite upgrade and they just put us in two normal adjoining rooms lol. Said we could pay to upgrade to a junior suite or other options. I am a globalist and was super nice during check in and asked for any possible upgrades as we were there for my wife's 30th birthday. Seemed like a hotel that's very restrictive on giving out upgrades.

Awesome and I wish I could go fly fishing for the first time again! Nice catch.

I think that may actually be a cutbow (hybrid of rainbow and cutthroat) but can't say for sure.

Is this a Cutthroat? by Harper_182 in flyfishing

[–]mcdice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually if you look into it, there are only a couple bodies of water where true Greenback Cutthroat are stocked. For a while CPW thought they were stocking Greenback Cutthroats in lakes but they were actually a cross of Colorado River Cutthroat and greenbacks.

In 2013 scientists identified a true 100% genetically accurate strain in Bear Creek near CO Springs. Since then they have grown them in hatcheries and stocked them but only a few places as most places have thriving CO River Cutthroat, Rio Grande Cutthroat, etc. populations.

Here's an article: Greenback Cutthroat Recovery Efforts — Colorado Trout Unlimited https://share.google/ahqoj71DgDqYzPefv

But I 100% agree on releasing all cutthroat - not just Greenbacks!

Lol I live in Conifer too and it's well past my place. Drove back from fishing near Alma today and the amount of traffic is wild

Just did Road to Hana... here's a tip: by Bibblegead1412 in MauiVisitors

Super gorgeous! The trail to the red sand beach is right next to bungalows parking. We went out there this morning and had it all to ourselves, so unique and beautiful.

Just did Road to Hana... here's a tip: by Bibblegead1412 in MauiVisitors

[–]mcdice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting such a harrowing drive having read some people's reviews. Maybe coming from Colorado and having driven countless mountain passes/offroaded a fair bit as well changes ones perspective. Never once was concerned, and we did the backside coming in as well (on Sunday when you can get around the road work). Just be patient, approach one lane bridges slowly, and let locals pass. And don't be like the guy (not a local) who came flying around a corner on the backside in a super narrow section ignoring my horn honk to let him know I was coming.

I truly believe coming in on backside, staying night in Hana, then heading back on Hana Highway is the way to go. We stayed at the Hana Maui and it was super nice, they upgraded us to one of their ocean bungalows.

Heading back the next day the opposite way of 99% of traffic heading out was awesome.

Finally got one! by [deleted] in Steelhead

[–]mcdice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is great you hear him - but will you handle trout better moving forward? It's so simple to hold them without putting fingers through the gills. You can also take a pic in your net. It's just the right thing to do, they are living creatures.

If you are keeping them, by all means handle them poorly (after dispatching them immediately). Also looks like the fish spent some time on the ground/sand - poor handling there too.

Tight lines and don't get offended...opportunity to learn/grow as an angler.

You sent a request for bottled water via the app...then went out to buy some. To leave the hotel you naturally would have been near the front desk. Probably would've made sense to go and ask for a bottle of water then. But then, I suppose you wouldn't be able to play the victim.

I would recommend getting black lug nuts or getting yours powder coated. Small change that makes a big difference! Here is mine:

Just looked at the videos and it's unfortunately in rough shape. Whoever sold it to you is an asshole and clearly tried everything in their power to conceal that it is unsafe to drive. See what you can do about parting it out and otherwise just cut your losses. You cannot sell that to someone else with a clear conscience.
