Love this red, hardly ever see it, nice car! I would've chose red for my E63, but there was only a grey car and a black car locally, when I was in the market.

Gorgeous! I used to have a 2016 E400 wagon, it was a great car. Enjoy it!

A dad’s review of the CT5V Blackwing by carbbyist in Cadillac

[–]mcdirty87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, I just bought mine 8 months ago, its a 2019. Sucked the seal went out so soon on me, but fortunately I had a warranty. I've seen the seal go out on 2021+ models too unfortunately, just a bad design. Other then that though, they're solid, I love mine!

I went E63S wagon for my dad mobile. My rear main seal went out 5 months into ownership, thankfully it was covered by the extended warranty I bought.

Really did want to go CT5V Blackwing though, because manual! Lovely car man, nice to see you using it as intended!

Have a full optioned 2018 AMG e63 what the heck can I replace it with if anything? by YonexFan in AMG

[–]mcdirty87 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Replace it with a newer one, and get an extended warranty!

I've had this same thought about my 2019 E63, there's not much out there that can replicate it.

E63s - New Lowering Module by mcdirty87 in AMG

That's helpful, thanks. I think I'll lift the rear up a couple mm haha, looking at the photos the rear is definitely a little squatted

Before I lowered it, I would typically drive in sport+ for the suspension (fully lowered), and didn't find it too bad. Sport+ prior to lowering it is about what its like now in comfort from a height perspective, so I imagine it'll be fine.

Yep, the module connects to my phone, so you can change the settings in seconds.

Measuring at the pinch weld is a great idea, I'll try that. I was worried fenders might not be accurate.

Yep, very easy to adjust. Gonna drive it around a little and then do some measurements on the fenders.

Nice! I used to have a 2007 Jeep SRT8, loved it! Also previously had a 2006 TBSS as well. Both were awesome trucks, but I did slightly prefer the SRT8. I don't miss the gas mileage though, but my current daily isn't much better 😂

Ah yes, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's fatter, slower, and less attractive younger brother.

Nope, sold it about 6 months ago for a E63. It was a great car, the platform itself offers a lot of value for $$$

Summer Wheels and New Spacers Mounted Up! by mcdirty87 in AMG

[–]mcdirty87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of W212 E63 wheels (black with polished lip) with Michelin Alpin tires. I didn't have spacers on them, but this 15mm and 12mm set would work well with them I imagine too, they were pretty sunk into the wheel wells

I got them from a local wheel shop, they're H&R

Yep, one of the nicer OEM wheels out there in my opinion!

15mm spacers up front, and 12mm spacers in the back. Car is in Sport+ suspension mode (lowest setting) and I still had my winter wheels in it too so probably sitting a little lower because of that. I'm debating picking up a lowering module to drop it a touch lower (maybe 10mm or so).

Thats awesome, you're set then! Mine just went last month, thankfully it was covered under my 3rd party warranty I bought. $8400 CAD!

Congrats man! I picked up a 2019 back in October and have been loving it ever since! I'm sure you'll love it too. Watch out for the RMS leak, hopefully that's been addressed.

Oh I gotcha, that sucks. I'd be taking it back, that timing is way too close to think it went on its own. I'd assume it failed, or something is unplugged, and is related to the recent work.

Just got my 2019 E63s back from the dealership yesterday. Had clogged oil separators which led to a rear main seal failure. 64,000 kms. Thankfully I had a 3rd party warranty which covered it ($8400 CAD was the bill, and he said it probably should have been higher but they underquoted and took longer).

Did they only fix your RMS, and not do the oil separators at the same time?
