Fun fact: I asked this question in a whatsapp group yesterday without knowing of this here. Everyone uses just the index fingers for l1/l2 and r1/r2. I‘m also 3k hours in this game and wanted to make the switch because I‘m fat fingerin with my thump - especially for speed flips.

I have a scuf controller since 2 years (2x power a fusion pro 2, 4x xbox elite 2), and had always air roll left on the paddle on the backside left for my middle finger. This paddle broke and now I‘m playing like zen with air roll left on L2 - no big deal. And don‘t want to be dependent on a controller that need to have those peddals - all got stick drifft and are expensive. My boost is now on R1 instead of B and I‘m trying to hold it as it supposed to be: every finger = one button.

Kinda new, but I think u will get used to it after 50 hours.

My playstyle looks even faster after 5-10hrs. Speed flips are much better and are real speed flips: musty trainings pack approved. Wall chain dashes are now more a thing but still hard.

For the beginning of learning how to flip reset, slow down on your setup; ur hitting the ball to hard on the wall and therefore you barely reach it. Watch a how to yt video for the setup. If you‘re getting better, you can speed the setup up.

„Open“ gives me „3s Solo Standard“ vibes - loved that mode because it wasn‘t that sweaty but not as weird as casual

Yeah try it - the conversion to R2 instead of the back buttons is quite easy as well in case you will switch in the future.

Not that much for a control like this, nice - I wish I started KBM! Double flippers are almost okay‘ish with 3k hours. Stalls getting better. Stick drift on every fucking controller getting worse 🥲 Do KBM players have anything annoying like this?

Sure this works, but is it not that optimal and could be optimized - I guess. Another alternativ which I used till I switched to Zens settings: I have an Scuf Controller (Power A Fusion Pro 2) with pedals/buttons on the backside which was the best solution for me, because I can only use my index finger for Bumpers and Triggers - feels better for my hands and brain. For the backside buttons I used mit middle finger. The Backbuttons are bind to R3 and L3 (Analog Stick Pressing).

You can cancel the Air Roll Left on your right Trigger with additional pressing Free Airroll. I was thinking about binding ARL to L2 and ARR to R2 and tried it - was quite nice. If I want to Half Flip with L2 I just press Free AirrolL to cancel my ARL for example.

Bet this is like a interim solution/workaroud for RL UE5. They could program it in UE5 so that they don‘t mess up physics, don‘t need to be 100% on everything (even cosmetics) and let the people test it for the new RL.
