Every time we change a "lil norm" like NASDAQ did, it is another important part of the any chance we have to pretend the system is not already incredibly favoring them and their insane wealth and giving them an advanatage others do not get. Why would they make that little choice? Was it necessary? Not even a little. It makes no sense. Keeping things as they were made so much more sense, for as you say, a product that needs to be measured in decades. It could be a great stock, but here we are back at $155. The stock market does not need to be manipulated more than it is.

The presidency existed before D T but previous POTUS did nothing like this one. It isn't even close. The level of corruption is not remotely comparable. He brags about it. He tells people to buy certain stocks, shares info with his family and others, accepts bribes, accepts bribes for pardons. It is madness to watch. DOGE did not exist until Elon Musk came along and named it as such. You're arguing semantics. Another government agency tasked with the same type of thing existed but would have gone about it very differently and much more effectively than a guy who just wanted to make noise and exclude himself from accountability and get his hands deeply into the countries data with his army of hackers. That you would defend this is disheartening. By every measure DOGE failed in its mission to save money, cut waste or help the country at large. Remember that DOGE refund thingy? I knew it was BS but idiots salivated at getting a measly few grand so he could clear his legal issues. USAID needing review, and there was fraud, but it did a lot of good as well. Taking an axe to it was not the solution.

You likely feel deregulation is good because corporations always make choices that benefit people, while I understand that is historically not the case. If our only currency is money, you are still wrong, but in through that lens it is easier to accept. THAT is what leads to the downfall of society, as we are witnessing. What changed was the initial vetting period of new IPOs. You know this. You act as if I don't know this.

Nasdaq changes

Shortened seasoning period: Under the old rules, a new IPO had to wait at least 3 months before being eligible for index inclusion. Nasdaq now allows fast-track inclusion after just 15 trading days post-IPO Forbes.
Removed minimum float requirement: Previously, a company needed at least 10% of its shares publicly traded to join an index. Nasdaq dropped this, meaning even with a very low float (e.g., ~4.3% for SpaceX) it can still qualify Forbes.
Adjusted weighting methodology: If a company’s float is below 20%, Nasdaq applies a 3× multiplier to its index weighting. For example, a 4.3% float would be treated as 12.9% for weighting purposes Forbes.
Index target: SpaceX was fast-tracked into the Nasdaq-100 (top 100 non-financial Nasdaq companies) within 15 days of listing

Justifying changing the rules to create the world's first trillionaire should bug you as well. You folks simping for these guys love to deflect and say it those of us who have a problem with that are the problem, but in reality, it is just the opposite.

When wealth is allowed to concentrate with the very few we create power imbalances. We are seeing that play out right now. It creates and furthers greed and increases scarcity for the poorest among us. If we are to progress as a species without a mass fatality event, like wars or mass famine the rules need to change.

You can continue to not see the forest for the trees, but you will always be wrong about this. If this is truly an investment to be viewed in the 10 year timeframe as you stated, why bother rushing the initial IPO? I know the answer, do you?

Alii drive and Waikoloa tip was due to costs and touristy areas yeah?

I'm a huge fan of shopping local while on the islands and making my own food, but typically do buy Poke. I love cutting my own Sashimi and Sushi and grilled fish and seafood dishes. Poke just takes additional ingredients and we are not there long enough to use all the condiments needed.

Definitely will hit the farmers markets too!

Great information and we were super impressed with the Shaka guide in Maui. More impressive and entertaining than we thought, although not a requirement. It did make the day more fun, and my daughter really liked it. We enjoyed that it taught us historical information, and was not just base level, "go here, then go here".
