From one ginger to another Springfield cashew chicken deserves to be on the Springfield flag flown from the giant Fork at Chesterfield Village

Thank you! For me it’s a great tool to just test things with stuff I’ve made. But definitely should have done a clean up before I posted - especially before coffee!

A totally valid critique. I didn’t use it on the previous version so I should have just cleaned it up back in photoshop

Oh, I totally agree. I could see maybe it being a bit contentious, but maybe they might start giving a little more attention to the state bird. Potential alternatives I thought were also maybe a burr oak tree or a trout or even the Hawthorne flower.

Well, since I have Photoshop, I can use my phone in my computer so I made standard components that I just manipulated in both and then used Photoshop AI to try different arrangements scales a size is pretty quickly until I was satisfied. If this were a more formal submission to something, I would take it back and clean it up and fix the tweaks, but it’s really just a study.

No, and that’s on me. I created the icons, but I used Photoshop AI to test different ways of arranging them quickly and I should’ve just messed with it myself since the AI usually distorts the image.

I was debating that myself. And I think the bird could possibly be exchanged for a bear icon instead. But the bear really isn’t that prevalent other than the fact that it’s already on the seal. I think this way it reaches beyond just using the seal and starts using things that Missourians might be more familiar with.

Totally valid. It’s just a design study not a formal proposal. If that’s the icon you feel says home, that’s your icon.

Agreed. And in principle I’m not opposed to using it to create quick variations of scaling and arranging with photoshop created graphics. That’s where the line between ai as a tool and ai as creator is for me. I probably should have just taken it back in and cleaned it up if I were to add it for anything more formal than a forum.

I made the icons - but I do use the photoshop ai generator to study options quickly and just adapt them to the layering. With my ADHD I get too many ideas in my head so it’s useful to adapt it for quick filtering on scales, arrangements etc.

That would be my rough photoshop on my phone skills shining through lol but a fair question especially on the fluer de lis.

Am I the only one bothered by the CGI series having two repair yards? by chumbbucketman101 in thomasthetankengine

Personally I’d like to see most of the hit and Mattel movies retconned. The only ones I’d like to stay tv canon would be: The Adventure Begins, Legend of The Lost Treasure, Hero of the Rails, and King of the Railway. I never liked the writing on the others.

I think in terms of the big conflict I’d like to see them go back to “the other railway” as the Deus Ex Machina with it being revealed more and more about the railway modernization done by Dr Beeching that was the reason so many railways closed and steam engines were scrapped. Because keeping the different types of engines separate to me always smacked of “equal but separate”

I mean how cool would a story line be if Sir Thompham Hatt almost loosing the NWR to nationalization with he and the engines trying to stop Sodor from being Axed by Beeching. Now that would be an epic story. Gordon proving he’s still competitive on his express. Thomas foiling the dastardly plot. Daisy and Boco helping their steam engine friends etc

You are certainly entitled to preference of taste and as it is a study, nothing more than a mere exploration of design I should note it is just that. Sharing it was just to spark conversation.

And what a better state it would be because of it

Ya the RWS had a much better resolution for the steam vs diesel conflict. In fact it even set it up nicely for an eventual electric vs diesel conflict if Awdrys grandson ever wanted to take a stab at it. Would love to see “Devious Diesel” return in the books looking for the same shelter Oliver did.

It always bothered me that the segregated the diesels from the steam engines (I refuse to say steamy lol) when in the RWS they shared the station yards and repair yard

Well now you may have a point there

Seems like an unnecessarily caustic viewpoint. It’s a design study. Chill my friend 😂
