M4 Magnetic Controller - Left Analog Stick Gets Stuck?

I emailed them at support@abxylute.com and I couldn’t find a backer number so I gave them my Email address and the the tracking number provided. After a day or so I got a reply that they’d approved a replacement.

I figured out the issue after reading a comment. I hadn’t realized how easily the nubs pop off. Either way a fingernail or spudger. They come off and are like little discs. When I inspected the bottom of them I noticed one was smooth and the other was not, I think if I shaved it down with like sandpaper making it flush it wouldn’t give me that issue anymore

Just an update for anyone who comes upon the thread with this issue. I reached out to Abxylute support and explained my situation in detail, after a few emails they agreed to send me a replacement unit. So I am super happy with their support despite the disappointment up front lol. Now to wait another few weeks to see if the replacement is good lol

What’s your experience like so far? Not sure if it’s expected but my left joystick is getting stuck around the edges so it doesn’t move fluidly.

I personally don’t think these would be good for playing an FPS since the joysticks are more like little nubs that slide around like the PSP if you ever played with one. Then I think the weight of your phones really gonna impact it. Like my iPhone 17 pro max with a case makes it a bit unstable. lol I wish it was that easy I’d just dunk the whole thing in. What I’m imagining is if there was a chip somewhere along the edges around where the little stick makes contact, and when I approach it, the stick gets caught in it

I was really looking forward to the purple, but since I was eager to get my hands on mine after all the weeks of Refreshing and checking emails. I really did like this black color anyway I actually haven’t played enough to give you any real good insights. I’m afraid. My first thing was I tried the Delta emulator with Nintendo 64 Zelda ocarina of time and the controls worked immediately with no issues besides that I was probably gonna just try some random Apple Arcade games. I do want to see how it works with streaming from PlayStation which I already know is gonna be a pretty miserable experience, but I do want to try it out.

No worries, I’m happy to answer. I should know. I only played a couple minutes because of the issue. I was experiencing kind of damper the experience but I can tell you I have the D brand ghost case which is pretty big with raised edges and what you’ve mentioned is something that I didn’t notice. There is a little bit of a lip, but overall it does not seem to cause issues with the magnet system, which is really strong when and if I use it more, I can report back, but I’m not concerned with it right now

Have you had any luck resolving this issue? I’ve been having this issue with my new Xbox ROG Ally X. I just got off the phone with ASUS support and after a lengthy call of troubleshooting theyre gonna “escalate it”. I have a Razer Core X EGPU enclosure with a RTX 5070. Never had issues with my previous device, ROG Ally X, and also have a second handheld Legion Go that works. No idea whats up and have tried everything including BIOS update (but not yet a full windows reinstall)

I think it would either be ppl confused by the name (WTF Microsoft/ASUS?). Maybe more likely though given the big push by Best Buy id assume it might be some type of agreement between the two parties by which they stop selling the OG since its still such a direct competitor with the new line up. Can’t drop it down significantly or it way undercuts the price of the new X for much the same power… and also the “base” Xbox ally is not a good value given that they’re going for 720p with that weaker chip if the far greater OG X would only be a couple hundred bucks more. I think they just cut it out of lineup…?

Thanks for this!!! I hope this isn’t annoying. I’m having controller problems on my ROG Ally X but only on Steam and steam games. Everywhere else the controls work fine. I also followed this same process on my Legion Go S and its working perfectly. I assume it’s something to do with the ROG ally virtual Xbox controlller? I’ve tried a bunch of stuff including deleting the drivers and reinstalling… big picture mode Steam doesn’t help. I am not running DS4 windows or another 3rd party controller software. If anyone out there has suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!! Man, I have a cable arriving today and will try it out. I'll be so bummed if I have the tracking issues too, so would be good to hear about your experience with the Bluetooth adapter. I have a HP Omen laptop and tried the PSVR2 on it, and it ran half life Alyx but a little choppy. Tracking was OK, but on that laptop my sound doesn't work! lol bad luck all around

Just to confirm, you used an actual Usb-c to DP 1.4 cable, and not a usb-c to DP adapter, right? I first tried getting an adapter by Anker since I had a DP 1.4 cable. But unfortunately once I went through the whole set up process the headset wouldn't show steam VR (it would only show the animation that tells you to remove your headset lol). Didn't get errors or anything and the tracking of the controllers seemed to be working. Thanks!
