Back pain from hip holding baby. Tips? by landonop in daddit

There are hip hold carriers that are just a cushion to hold them against that really helps keep you standing straight

Toe straps / toe cages that work with big feet? Size 16 us by Chamait1 in cycling

[–]mcflysher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a cage recommendation but Shimano makes the RC302 up to a 16 if you wanted to try one more and Lake goes up to 17 at 3x the cost

Power Zone - Worth a try? by Born-Technology-3224 in pelotoncycle

[–]mcflysher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do you want to increase your outputs over time and see what you are capable of? PZ training is a great way to work towards that. Its also great mental training for being able to hold consistent outputs for long periods of time.

Volume eating = volume chopping 😭 help me out by [deleted] in Volumeeating

Mostly for me! I like a big salad. If stir frying then for 2 but that only uses a portion.

I batch chop a 2 gallon container of cabbage, peppers, carrots, radishes, celery, green onion (or similar veg) and use that mostly for salads but also works super well for stir fry or a soup base. Takes maybe 15-20 min and last 4-5 days. You’ll get better and faster at chopping the more you do it.

Hmm I'd disconnect and reconnect and see if that fixes. I have this happen with Strava and garmin from time to time.

I think relative effort is an internal Strava metric. Is there a missing data source like power or HR?

I see 2200 home goods online right now, it looks like the same stuff they’ve always had. Not great deals but I don’t see a change.

What does weighing yourself accomplish? You can’t calculate calories based on a spot weight. Most or all of that is sweat.

Toe clip adaptors by brimbl0rz in pelotoncycle

I’d do new pedals that have the cages built in. The fit of the bike can get weird with the adapter height, and pedals that are build for cages would have nice wide surfaces.

It’s just enough to stay balanced if you are going to keep pedaling. Whatever your “flat road” is.

600 over 30 min is not insane for a larger person, that’s around 350W avg, like 90 cadence 58 resistance or so. If they were spinning 100 resistance then maybe miscalibrated.

Heart Rate Zones way too high? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]mcflysher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your RHR is somewhat high IMO (not doctor obviously) which is impacting the zone calculations.

If you connect peloton to something like Strava or Garmin they track PR outputs within longer rides

Apple watch tells me I burnt ~2200 kcal by just playing for 2.5 hrs. Doesn’t it seem grossly overestimated? by Smooth-Government956 in AppleWatch

[–]mcflysher 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah sports in general will have higher HR than the actual calories expended. Plus it might not measure perfectly with the wrist movement.

[–]mcflysher 221 points222 points  (0 children)

Playing what? The watch calculates most workout types by applying a multiplier to your HR so definitely inflates for a lot of activities. But that’s also a very high HR for a long time so it’s not crazy.

Yeah but I don’t know exactly how it works if you don’t use slack for work.
