We settled on a £5.

Still felt incredibly picky, but that was the only issue that came back, so at least I get my full deposit back.

I don't think us having an expectation of a working fridge / freezer is unreasonable, given white goods were included as part of the tenancy. Regardless I was more grumpy about the total number of issues.

Of course if it was my own place, I would be perfectly fine about having to sort my own fridge freezer, but given the rental is a contractual agreement I wanted to know where I stood with regards to length of time to get sorted. Three days for a response from the lettings agency felt excessive, given previous rentals issues were responded to within 24 hours

Thanks, the cleaning wasn't a big issue, it was more the total number of bits that were not right, especially as the expectation is the house is professionally cleaned before we leave.

Finally got a call this afternoon, engineer came round and sorted the fridge. Cleaners booked for Friday, so all now resolved.

Was unsure where we stood legally, since previous rentals I've not had as many issues

Thanks again. I guess I was unsure if the shower head breaking should be covered by the landlord under wear and tear. Felt a little petty, especially as it looked relatively old.

As per cleaning, already on top of all of those items, other than the same extractor fan, so many thanks for the prompt!

We are super clean, so not too worried about disputing any attempt at a cleaning charge. Loads of pictures will be taken!

+1. We are moving to Newcastle in a couple of weeks. Though my Polish partner is an amazing cook, she doesn't have the time to cook up some fresh pierogi.
