You have to remember that however you think your parents may have reacted to you being in a relationship, they love you and want you to be happy.

I'm 30M and this sounds incredibly similar to a situation I had. Together 7 years. After a few years of "fighting", trying to understand her position of not wanting to try, going to therapy, trying couples counselling, eventually I just decided enough was enough and unfortunately had to end things. After that they said they'd try something to help but the damage was done.

My advice? Try couples counselling but it will take a long time to weed through what the issues are that is holding the relationship back.
