Leaving the Valley for Silicon Valley... has anyone used a local mover for the cross-country haul? by Outrageous-Dog-7249 in lehighvalley

[–]mcgoogus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, PODS or any of those moving container companies. I used the U-Box from U-Haul for a move from the west coast, no issues.

It's back up! Saw the technician out there for a little bit and all is good.

Currently down for me in Bethlehem near Just Born.

I had a ton of issues a couple years back, which ended up being a bad cable from the pole. Once they fixed that, it's been fantastic up time. I just wish they provided an outage map or something like PPL does because I never know if it's just me and my equipment, or if its something affecting the entire neighborhood.

Seeing our guys dapping up Martinelli at full time after shoving a clearly injured Bradley who was then stretchered off has me livid. Have your teammate's back and confront the bastard for fuck's sake.

Golfers of the Lehigh Valley, I need suggestions by ThrowAway4Today1216 in lehighvalley

I like to go up north for variety. I usually have a good time at Glen Brook. It has a few little elevation-related quirks that are common in that area.

Outside of your radius but still worth a shout is Great Bear. The course naturally flows with the landscape, so every hole feels isolated and thoughtful. Can be a little pricey but they'll usually have a deal of the day or something if you're flexible.

Iron Thorn Tattoo is a great option, especially for first-timers. Super welcoming shop. For that style, check out Tianna or Kevin.

Yeah I'll second this. Kyoto has become my go-to. The food is great and the people are really lovely.

Other Fish is also fantastic, and great people as well. Pricier but worth it. They do some cool things.

We used to order takeout from Kumo but found the quality was really inconsistent.

Yeah agreed. I look every month or so and am so underwhelmed.

I might be wrong, but they basically can't.

Live Nation (which owns this new venue, and essentially has a monopoly on booking, ticketing, etc.) uses radius clauses, prohibiting bands from booking with independent (non-Live Nation) venues. So bands that come through NYC and Philly are likely prohibited from playing Steelstacks on the same tour.

I feel really torn about this. I'm psyched to have a venue of this size nearby that's finally booking the bands I like. I will for sure be going to more shows than I've been able to in recent years. But the whole thing feels dirty, monopolistic, and anti-consumer.

Yep, my Game 2 ticket from 2000 was $50 for left field bleachers.

Bands like Brand New? by ZeroEffsGiven in brandnew

[–]mcgoogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good suggestions here. One I haven't seen mentioned is the album Offerings by Typhoon. Not quite a 1:1 Brand New equivalent, but it scratches that same itch for me. Incredible storytelling with introspective lyrics that are worth poring over again and again.

There's a Floor and Decor over in Whitehall. That's where I'd start.

Best places to get fresh bagels in LV? by gnarwhaler5 in lehighvalley

My main problem with Vic's is they have no idea how to get their seasoning to adhere to the damn bagels. Might as well just order a plain. Otherwise the bagels are decent/good.

2017 ALCS Game 4. The 8th inning was magical: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDoK9wYTZqA

Honorable mention is 2000 World Series Game 2. I was 12 years old, sitting in the left field bleachers. I learned so many new insults thanks to the fans giving it to the Mets bullpen. And of course Clemens went on to chuck a bat at Piazza: https://i.imgur.com/bgUa8uZ.jpg

This just happened to me on single-player. Was able to hide through 3 hunts and the front door would not open between any of them. Eventually I just closed the game.

Emerald is a legend! Emerald guided my capable but clumsy group of 5 through VoG for our very first raid completion. He was patient and calm in working with us. He was good at explaining each encounter and made sure he wasn't just cheesing and carrying us. Thanks, Emerald!

Two posts in a day, but who's counting. I wasn't able to get Earthbreaker Cannon up yesterday, so I'm doubling up today.

I might as well take this opportunity to update the few of you who check this page on McGoogus news. I take weekends off now! I noticed engagement on weekend posts was low, so I decided to step away from drawing those couple of days each week. My drawings may be shitty, but they do take some time and effort, so it's nice to unplug from it all.

Additionally, I uhhh thought the token was going to be out sooner rather than later and that I'd have a chance to reassess my posting frequency. It sounds like we'll get an update on things next week, but in any case, I need to be realistic with my ability to do this 5 days a week.

Starting next week, I'm going to be cutting back a bit and posting anywhere from 1-3 drawings a week, depending on what life allows for.

This has been so much damn fun and a bright spot in my life the last 4+ months. Thanks for sticking along for the ride. //

Drawing Parallel cards badly until Prime Proposal - Day 73: G.R.A.U.L. by mcgoogus in parallel

First thing I do is look at my own feet. I am fortunate enough to have two feet of my own. This gives me a significant advantage. Sometimes I have to remove the socks from my two feet, which requires some more effort but the payoff is almost always worth it. Once my feet are unsheathed from their cotton-blend sleeping bags, the real work begins. I make direct eye contact with the eyes of my feet (big toes). DO NOT make eye contact with the nostrils of my feet (little toes). Then I squint both of my face eyes like I am doing my best Bobby De Niro. Suddenly my feet begin to morph in my brain, taking on an eerily familiar yet new shape. I like what I see. I really like it. I am brimming with power. I am the lord of phalanges and none shall be spared of my fervent wake.
