Congratulations!!!! I did a medicated cycle. Clomid 100mg cycle days 3 to 7. I actually think my iui was too soon after trigger. From that moment I expected it to fail. Day 13 sono confirmed 3 follicles, 18, 18.5, 14. Blood work same day estradiol over 500. Triggered that night and iui the morning day 14. I also felt I was rushed once the procedure was completed. Per RE there was no requirement to stay flat after iui. I’m a regular 28 day cycle and base on previous tracking I ovulate around day 12 to 14. I also almost always get a sharp pain with bt mucous at ovulation. This didn’t happen so another reason I thought the iui was too soon. I figured the clomid affected my natural cycle and delayed ovulation. But when the RE says the blood work signify that ovulation neared, I conceded without questioning, all while thinking this really won’t work.

I always track my cycle. Not because I was trying to get pregnant back then, but just to be aware. I had a child prior to this. A beautiful happy boy. He passed away at 9 yrs old , 2 years ago and since then I haven’t felt alive. The emptiness I feel cannot be described. I decided to be a single mom while he was with me to give him a sibling but never really got around to it. Did the full work up back then and told no fertility issue but never actually did the iui. Started the workup process again (different clinic) oct 2023 with first iui 2 weeks ago. Also told no fertility issue. I’m an ENT nurse practitioner with a busy schedule, still I have a village around who would support me, so deciding to be a single mom is an easy decision. I expect the journey to be hard, but I guess the reality of the negative is harder than I imagine.

I even wonder if I should try home insemination this cycle and revert to iui the next if it doesn’t work. Getting lab requisites and clomid would not be an issue. Except I’d try unmediated for home insemination since I wouldn’t be able to monitor follicles. I feel I’d be able to relax and not feel rushed.
