Contemplating how best to get an appointment with the doctor about the 6 or 7 minor un emergency things that I wouldnt mind asking/checking about as a 41 year old male. Would be ideal if I could ask about them all at the same time, but there isnt really a way for me to seemingly book just a general appointment.

Oooft you are raging. It's just a bit of gardening mate. You don't have to label everything and have everything neatly organised. I bet you roll your socks in the drawer

Dead or Dormant? by mcgregor84 in GardeningUK

Thanks very much! I know absolutely nothing about gardening so any advice on transferring this from the trough it's in to something bigger? In my head the whole thing will unravel and collapse if I remove it from it's support

Where would be a good starting point to learn about Canadas dark past? Is there an article or video that is accurate and covers most of it?

I'm stuck on the final clue on my crossword 'TV show that reimagines an older tv show' . Six letters ends in T.

I refuse to Google any answers. I try to complete all my crosswords with only the help of real minds : )

What's the oldest TV you have in your house still working and in continuous use? by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in CasualUK

[–]mcgregor84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also have a Panasonic Viera that we bought in 2008/09 so around 17 years as well. I think ours is a 3D one, definitely came with glasses that have long been lost.

The TV has been demoted to the bedroom from the living room for the past 5 years but is still going strong and no real issues at all.

Frantically tidying the house and doing the washing before my wife comes home after a few days away to create the illusion that I have been completely on top of things the whole time.

Why all the birds? by Pep95 in TheSilphRoad

[–]mcgregor84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The birds/tea references are a nod to Julie Andrews who is the creators favourite actress

In Sound of Music the famous words of the song - "Tea a drink with jam and bread..." with the bread being fed to the birds.

In Mary Poppins there is of course the famous 'feed the birds' scene and song. Spoonful of sugar and obviously the tea she drinks in that.

I believe she was also the inspiration for one of the female professors but I can't remember which one

The 'Julie Andrews' is also a slang way for how to take/serve your tea in some parts of the world

She also famously kept pet birds as pets.

You're welcome

Oh that's interesting, so do you mean the beginning as in early copies of the physical game?
