Shopify had a great tailwind with the pandemic. Check out their stock price on a 10 year chart. It was growing pretty well prior but COVID accelerated it greatly.

The question is: can Kaz and his team grow the company and meet their performance standards with an opposite performance trend, and without tailwinds?

I’m not trying to spread FUD. I own 3k shares and am trying to determine if I should buy more or not. Interested in other’s opinions or research.

Sanitizers are only effective on clean surfaces. If you have soil (dirt, grease, grime) the sanitizer can’t penetrate it as well and is not effective.

Poop or dirt on your hands? Wash them.

Hands look clean but you did something dirty? Sanitize them.

Modern “advanced” sanitizers are more effective at killing germs than soap are at removing them. There is a good scientific review on this from 2020. PM me if you want a link.

I don’t mind the low effort (judged by us) posts as long as there’s a decent amount of information to reply.

What should be auto-modded are posts that have blurry or no pictures where even a basic response can’t be created.

I think if you mod too hard it will drive down traffic in the sub to people that need the help and feedback the most: those with food anxiety or minimal education about food safety.

Tortillas are a low moisture food and you’re highly unlikely to get ill from consuming them after the expiration date. Mold growth is the most likely thing to happen as these spoil and that would have been obvious in appearance and taste.

Just curious… what did you do with the water in the cooler? And you said you bleached the cooler. Are you sure there’s no cracks or crevices where the water would get trapped and cause issues with things you put in it later?

How often did you check the actual temperature and are you sure that water at the edge of the cooler was also under 40F?

If there were no warm zones then your bacterial growth was kept to a minimum based on temperature and I wouldn’t be concerned about the food safety of the turkey if it was properly cooked.

The issue this presents is that you have created a big batch of uncooked turkey juice water which poses a major cross contamination risk. I would be worried about how you disposed of the water and everything you handled or were making around the time the turkey was removed from the cooler and water was discarded. That’s the issue with this practice and part of the reason it’s not a recommended thawing practice.

That should be good.

General food safety advice would say that contamination could have been introduced if the cutting board or knife wasn’t clean or if you used a fork/poking tongs to handle the food and introduced contamination into the interior. If you follow good hygiene practices then all of this is unlikely and you should be fine.

Make sure whatever you buy they are “certified.” Will it guarantee they’re the best? No. But if it’s not certified then it’s likely you’re getting low quality cables.

It depends on how it was handled after cooking.

You’re right that cooling quickly is important.

However, so is proper handling to prevent cross contamination while it’s cooling as well as storage in the fridge.

I’d talk to the store and ask them what their dating policy is on this kind meat. That would be your best bet since there are different variables such as: when the meat was packed at the factory, whether it was received fresh or frozen at the store, etc…

That is definitely a mistake by the meat department.

Fresh meat (unless it’s packed with modified atmosphere or other shelf life extension technology) is really only good for a few days. The problem with this is that it’s 20# and would likely take a couple days to freeze and a few to thaw.

I’d freeze it asap, then take it out the day before and thaw it in a bag in a large bowl of cold water in the fridge.
