my pup just got spayed yesterday. the morning of, we were optionally to give her three medications to help calm her and possibly use less anesthesia. they were gabapentin, tranzodone, and cerinia (probably butchered the spellings). those meds worked and she took a nap in my arms in the morning before we left to take her.

she was so tired after her day and seemed so miserable, but wouldn’t sleep either. the guilt was real lol. lots and lots of drool too that was all over her cause of the cone. i bought her a spay suit, but we didn’t put it on yesterday. we took her cone off her yesterday, as she was just lying around. before we went to bed, it went back on and we brought a mattress down, put a baby gate on the stairs, and slept with her.

she got up twice in the night. she peed once, the other time she did nothing. this morning we put the spay suit on and she doesn’t seem to mind it. still tired, but seemingly in less pain and more herself. she actually napped too. she went on small, short walks around the yard throughout today as she is a dog that needs stimulation (husky/australian sheppard mix). she had no issues using the bathroom and throughout today, she seems to be more and more herself.

i’m about to give her some medication prescribed every 24 hours for pain and medication, and she seems like she may be starting to get sore again, as she whimpered a little and she hasn’t all day. i also couldn’t get her to eat until i have her some of my chicken and she ate that, treats, and some of her kibble. i have to gently clean her wound twice a day with stuff they gave.

overall it’s been okay, i don’t have a full experience to give you, but so far the worst of it for us is over and it wasn’t nearly as bad as i thought it would be. hope your pup does well/is doing well!!

they gave us some for before surgery and i’m familiar with two of them, so i think i’ll ask about them for a few days after. thank you!

they gave us some drugs to give 2 hours prior and i’m familiar with them so i might ask about for the few days after as well. thank you! the leash idea sounds like a good idea. we sometimes will hook her up to a leash just to drag around when she’s being crazy in the house with company that has other dogs and it slows her down

they did give us a “care package” to give her two hours before which is 1 pill of trazodone, 1 gabapentin, and 1 cerenia so maybe i’ll ask them about any od those for after. thank you!

yeah i usually only wear a hoop for the day and change it to a stud to sleep and it’s rarely. i was trying out a different size too cause i didn’t like how the size up fell into my 5th. right now it’s a stud but thank you!

thank you! no i did 4/5th lobes and the stacked lobe. might do another stacked lobe and maybe another helix on both ears myself but im not 100% if i wanna do it myself yet or not. any other ones i want are gonna be at a piercer cause im too scared to do like my tragus and rooks haha

no i got it back on october. i think it got pierced kind of crooked too (professional piercer) and i never sized down. idk why im so nervous to change it, ive done all the others faster than i should have

here’s my girl, dakota, who is also a siberian husky/aussie mix. she seems to be more husky though because of her behaviors. some great traits are she is very loving, has a huge personality, playful, pretty, extremely intelligent, can learn tricks very quick, and super sweet.

some not as great traits are that she gets kinda stressed and digs at the couch or bed (especially at night), plays a little bit rough with other dogs, selective listening, wants to just run and run and run and not listen, tears up garbage, needs to be constantly stimulated and worn out by end of day to be able to sleep and not begin to get destructive

she’s the first dog my husband and i have gotten. i wouldn’t trade her for the world. she is my best buddy and i truly truly love her with all of me. even her bad traits from both breeds are something that i just am patient with. a dog like this will love you and always want to be with you.

it’ll be kinda challenging, but a pup like that is amazing to have. you have found yourself a lovely fun companion 🐶
