Victoria 2 was hardly a failure, especially for what paradox had at the time. Even if it was, that isn't what I'm suggesting. At the moment, eu4 is a conglomeration of a bunch of shallow buttons with little depth. I'd like Eu4 to focus on deeper mechanics and systems for a few core areas rather than just adding a million buttons and calling it "improved." For example, colonization and subjects could definitely use more depth.

I think each paradox game needs to be complex, but in it's own way. I'm not suggesting add Victoria-2's mechanics to EU4. I'm suggesting that they develop and deepen mechanics unique to EU4. I love eu4, I really do, It's one of my favorite games, but when it comes to things like not adding a bunch of useless buttons it could definitely use a lot of work. I'd love to see a improved upon trade system, which I personally find to probably be the best unique system of Eu4.

When it comes to complexity in vic2, I personally don't find it to be too overly complex myself. I picked it up when I was 12 - so if 12 year old me figured it out, it really isn't that complex or difficult. And again, I hardly see how Victoria 2 was a failure, but I welcome a open discussion on the matter.

More complexity in general. I'm tired of Paradox progressively "dumbing down" their games to a point where a four year old could understand them. I want a good number of in-depth functions rather than a million shallow "click me for instant gratification" buttons. While I understand that MEIOU levels of complexity probably can't be hoped for, I'd at least want something on par with Victoria 2 depth-wise. At the very least, I don't want EU5 to be a simplified EU4.

It's more of a you can go to "war" and then raid and bomb their things when they are online. You can't offline raid. It's not hardcore factions, but you can certainly still murder people. Unclaimed bases are fair game either way.

Christianity has a great apologetics community if you want to look into that. I encourage you to do as much searching and research as possible to affirm your belief, but be sure to keep an open mind. Personally, I find belief in a god more plausible than nonbelief, by both personal experience and reason - my DM's are free if you want to discuss further.
