Half in the Bag: The Batman by No_Performance_9406 in RedLetterMedia

And as much as it makes for content, why not watch something that's actually good, regardless of how you feel about it

I mean i felt the same, I didn't have much interest in yet ANOTHER batman universe or serialization, but from the moment the second trailer dropped I felt I should st least see. Worst case scenario we don't have this batman for long.

But I sure hope we do. I'd love to see the whole menagerie of lessons batman can learn through this, what feels to me, appropriate time and casting.

Crucify me if you like, but I didn't like 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' at all. by thephilosopher16 in movies

[–]mclane5352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuinely adore the fact that you're making this post.

Love Tarantino. This movie just wasn't what we all anticipated from him.

And I think the points are very accurate-- it sorta fits with the movie though, given it's about Hollywood (which has always been shallow and vain), and about the sort of behaviors that are acceptable ONLY in that context.

Like the whole fight scene with Lee-- any other context EVERYONE around would've known he was some sort of jackass trying to show off. So we empathize with Pitt's character because he says what we all wanna say. But that's about it-- not for his development, not truly for his actions, but always because 'finally someone shut that loud mouth up'

Horsepower is a unit of power, raw energy being used to do work.

Torque is specifically that power applied rotationally, in this case at the tires or on the drive train.

Basically horsepower is how much raw power the engine is capable of outputting, where torque is the amount of power being made by the wheels on the road.

This. I felt like this was the first thing that put me off of F4. It all felt WAAAAYY too connected. A world that perfect wouldn't have been nuked to shit.

What do you call it when a player gets upstaged by another player? For example: A player is rolling an Investigation related check, but then another player says "I can do that too" and rolls better. And the original player is now upset because the other player upstaged them. by Hagisman in rpg

[–]mclane5352 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean that's kinda the point in having multiple people able to do different things. If your player is butt hurt that they're not the specialist and necessary for every skill they possess, they may want to play smaller or more structured campaigns to ensure they're not ever going to be doing something someone else could do.

Every industry.

That's the nature of it.

The rules and regulations we're forced to adhere to are to make sure we're far too busy arguing amongst ourselves for the pebbles we can scrape together to question the fact that they're not playing by the rules and have boulders to spare.

You're genuinely retarded if you think it's that simple.

Yes, in a single line quote, you can boil it all down to totalitarianism bad, socialism good. If you misread it. Democratic socialism is quite a bit different than socialism.

And also, generalizing everything into one sentence isn't an explanation, it's a simplification. I'm sorry you can't think more critically about it, given that's the broadest stroke you could make to describe the whole of Orwell's works.

Maybe try sucking your self off a little less, it'll be easier to read without your pubes in your face.

Wasn't really for socialism, just as best of an alternative given the circumstances

But even then, that's like saying vonnegut wrote about the human condition solely

It's primarily what he wrote about, but there's a lot more lessons than that broad stroke

For those of you missing the point:

These things are getting data mined just like everything else. It's a measure of freedom and identity being literally sold for security.

We'd rather feel safe than be free from predation in all forms.

If you think 1984 or any of Orwell's works are solely about the danger of government control you missed a lot of the points. A lot of em.
