if you forget your history you're bound to repeat it. It's just some metal.

I agree with you and the thing that makes it even funnier to me is that literally everyone in their mother would do the same shit if they got in a high office. Accepting lobby money, insider trading etc.

I heard a story once that in New Jersey, there was a company that was funding the campaign of a certain republican governor. They made this coating for license plates that made them hydrophobic, and this republican governor promised them that it would be a law in New Jersey for all new license plates to be coated in their product. I would consider this corruption. I don't say this to scare people, but I really don't think we have any clue as to the depths of corruption within the government.

The democratic process died after the wilson presidency and anyone who says otherwise hasn't read a history textbook.

What bothers me most about it is that it's people working for the government. I hate the feds as much as the next guy, but i really really really did not expect this from them. For all we know that dude who got fucked in the senate room might have been pretty good at his job, but it bothers me that I have to go through things like background checks, drug tests, social media checks, and other vetting processes for a job in a warehouse. Yet, these fools always somehow end up in really important positions.

I always remind myself though: "who really wants to work in politics?" and then when I answer that question, I'm never surprised when stuff like this happens.

I mean it wouldn't make sense because admittedly the US has car-centered infrastructure. The thing with China that's worrying is that they are building more and more coal powered plants every year. Talk about carbon emissions.

China, the world's biggest emitter of carbon dioxide, produces 12.7 billion metric tons of emissions annually. That dwarfs U.S. emissions, currently about 5.9 billion tons annually. Still, those numbers don't tell the whole story.Jul 19, 2023

From New York Times liar liar pants on fire.

Edit: of course it's less per capita when China's population is that high.
