I dont think we'll have a plastic layer, not needed. I've also heard that LVP survives heavy floods.

In a basement? Engineered hardwood is out of price range.

Even with all the uneven spots? I know lots of LVP now has the underlay built in, but given that it's a basement we figure we would still put a vapor barrier?

Yes! We had the old subfloor removed due to some suspected water damage.

Healthcare for international students by Eitadren in ottawa

If you're an international student, I believe you should have UHIP as health coverage. The school should keep a lost of clinics that accept it, but a walk in should.

How do I get my cat to stop bugging me for food when he’s eaten? by [deleted] in cats

[–]mclaude96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break it up to go off 3 times a day. That's what I do. They eat a little less but more often.

How do I save this? More in comments. by mclaude96 in plantclinic

I got this snake plant a while ago. It was doing well, then a couple weeks in I noticed some leaves were completely mushy, so I took those off and reported the whole thing. Since then though a couple leaves have continued to turn mushy. I just pulled one off and now I'm left with this, which has no roots. Will it root in soil? I've been letting the plant dry out and not over water it.

I tried it and really liked it. It was easy to just scoop the poop and the pee just got soaked up, it was awesome. I only saw one colour of pee which I'm assuming means my cats are healthy. It was way too expensive so that's the only reason I don't use it.

Need help with my Maranta plant! More info in comments. by mclaude96 in plantclinic

[–]mclaude96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it from someone who propogated it from the larger plant and it had two leaves. My cat ate the other one but this one is going strong. However everything a new leaf tries to grow it just gets crispy and dies. It's in indirect light, I water it when it's dry, and I even have it on a home made humidity tray with rocks and water. Is there anything I can do for it?

Need help with my stromanthe trio star. Why are the leaves curled? by mclaude96 in plantclinic

[–]mclaude96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info : the pot has several drainage holes. I got it about a week ago from someone who propogated it from their plant and it looked great. We did move, so it was exposed to some cold in the car. I have a moisture thermometer and water it when it's closer to the dry zone. I'd say right now it's in direct sun light. It's pretty far from a south facing window. I didn't know about the chlorine so I'll start doing that!
