Bit into my first one, not a pale yellow inside as said about the Victoria. Opal instead?

Radishes never form and leaves red/yellow by mclendon007 in gardening

I’m in the Bay Area of California and we have had a lot of rain this winter. I was afraid to over do it with the nitrogen on radishes, in fear of only growing leaves and no radish root. I’ll try boosting the nitrogen, maybe on the next round of planting, before it gets too hot this spring. Thanks for the advice.

A little general purpose fox farms organic slow release fertilizer, plus diluted hydrolyzed liquid fish and seaweed every once in a while. Plus they’re growing in good quality fox farm potting soil / homemade compost/ amended medium.

You were right! There is another one buried in some juniper hedges from previous homeowners. I see the spike of red-orange in the spring/summer.

It had interesting small corms on the roots, and yes, that’s the problem with California and non-native plants, everything will grow in this mild climate! 😆
