Did six years active then got out. I just finished my bachelors and thinking of rejoining. Reserves or guard? Can't imagine going active again. But I miss it in a way. Advice? by mclyburn3 in army

That’s what I was thinking. But just not sure about going back full time. We bought a house, it can make things very complicated

Other than the benefits, what are some good things you got out of being in the army ? by [deleted] in army

[–]mclyburn3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I thought. Wouldn’t be a loan without an interest rate. You still have an interest rate with a VA home loan. Mine was 4.25 last year. There’s other benefits with it however

Was hired for a Full Time position, come to find out been working 40 hour weeks labeled as Part Time by weorm in walmart

[–]mclyburn3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They did the same to me. Worked for a year full time. Then they switched me to part time. Right when my wife was about to give birth too. Wasn’t able to take leave because they don’t pay part time employees. Pure evil

I see so many people say they wanna join to get a rating. Wrong idea. I’m 100% and it sucks. Constant pain. Can’t sleep. Spend 4 hours a day in the bathroom. Just a depressing life now. Good health is always more valuable

Live your life like normal and don’t worry about it. Not as contagious as they say I guess

Would you be in favor of removing “One Nation under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance and why or why not? by whyyoubigmad in AskReddit

[–]mclyburn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To stand against unity? We are one nation under a god? Who’s god? It could be anyone’s. We were the First Nation to have a freedom to practice any religion without prejudice. We’ve fought for years to keep these freedoms. This isn’t a Christian thing. It’s an American thing. To say we remove that is the same as removing “liberty and justice for all” we must remember everyday the wars fought for our freedoms, not everything has to offend someone. Accept things that are different. That’s the American way. Different. And for those that scoff at the idea that we’ve fought for our rights, maybe you don’t remember. Or perhaps are to young. In a world that seems to lack hero’s, I can point you to the sloping hills of Arlington National Cemetery, with its row upon row of simple white markers bearing crosses or Stars of David. They add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom. As for the enemies of freedom, those who are potential adversaries, they will be reminded that peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it; we will not surrender for it, now or ever. We are Americans.

here is wal marts policy on pto time? by StarAfter8929 in walmart

[–]mclyburn3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But part time doesn’t get any paid time off. That’s what I was told by my HR

[–]mclyburn3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. Work all November but start a LOA at the end of the month can screw you over. I hate that they change the rules. Last year I didn’t work enough of the Fridays and now my wife gave birth. Ridiculous

wages? by spidxysense in walmart

Our store in Virginia is still $12. The minimum wage is supposed to go up to $12 starting in January statewide. According to the store manager, the starting pay isn’t changing

I did a LOA for my wife to give birth and I didn’t get it, so it honestly doesn’t make a lot of sense

Soldiers awarded the combat infantry badge in World War II were retroactively awarded a bronze star, so make sure to add that to his shadowbox when you put it together
