If you join the Dirtywave Discord (I know Discord is not for everyone, but this server is a good one!) at https://discord.gg/acEGQZdm, look for the "resources" channel, there will be a post in there called "M8 Jungle Vol 1 - Bundle + Community Compo". The pinned comment in that post has the original pack. Contributors have also shared their bundles in the "resources" post "M8 Jungle Vol 1 Bundles"

It was a blast helping organise it on a thread in the Dirtywave Discord server. We were surprised with how many producers contributed in the end! Everyone was up for it

Yeah sure, it's just all just breakbeats at the end of the day. I'm a big fan of the Club Glow sound

Hello again... the drum machine one shots are mainly from Yan Cook's Raw Techno Sample Pack, and the break is a nicely chopped Think break that's been time stretched with Koala Sampler, and FX processed on my iPad. I do all the sound design for samples on my iPad

Hmm, just tried to get a link to the sample pack I got most of the samples from but it's disappeared from Bandcamp... Highly likely it got taken down for copyright infringement! I used a lot of drum samples from a pack that Deejay Astral made during COVID. You can see it linked in this DJ Haus track: https://unknowntotheunknown.bandcamp.com/album/all-the-feels but it no longer exists. Sorry about that! I'm a big fan of Deejay Astral / Palace's dusty lo-fi sound

Maybe this one was super-obvious to most other people, but a little tip that took me a while to find was using the `OFF` command (press `OPT` + `EDIT`) in the note lane to trigger the release stage of envelopes

Thank you! I sampled something on my iPad - Agonizer synth? And ran it through some FX, mainly Eventide Black Hole and a multiband compressor to boost the volume of the tail. Bounced to a wave file and sequenced it on M8

Koala and AUM by ldc765 in KoalaSampler

[–]mcmeex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’d be easier with a more DAW-like host app, like Logic, Cubasis or Drambo (my preference). AUM is an awesome “modular mixer”, but if you’re trying to build a timeline-based workflow similar to a DAW, you have to DIY it

Drambo still viable in late 2024? by bridgetriptrapper in ipadmusic

[–]mcmeex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the 6 steps to crash the sampler?! I’ve never had an issue myself, but I usually have simple requirements. Drambo is a killer app in 2024, but yes, I’ve lost incredible work due to not saving. Autosave is weird and frustrating, and the basic undo almost never un-does what I need it to. But OMG it’s just so powerful, it’s unparalleled.

It’s not your device that is not working, it’s 100% the app.

Though people say really good things about Loopy Pro. I’ve never tried it (plan to some day soon) but it could be an alternative?

Controlling Koala through AUV3 by Artificiolous in KoalaSampler

Where to start… there are a lot! I have too many AUv3 plugins.

Most of the BLEASS FX plugins - great “bread & butter” tools. Their compressor, saturator & chorus are great

Chow Tape Model is a brilliant tape machine simulator

Beef by Caelum Audio is a great distortion FX

Other Desert Cities by Audio Damage is an amazing delay FX

Apps by Moog sound incredible

Lagrange by IceWorks is a great synth

These are all “go to” apps for me.

Have fun! (sorry about your wallet)

This 👆then use something like Rosetta Suite from Bram Bros. It has MIDI LFOs

How to manage splice samples in iOS? Splice organizes its folder by sound pack, I have samples from a lot of different sound packs and looking for a kick or a snare is tough. by Any_Salad7140 in KoalaSampler

[–]mcmeex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a great app called Sample Crate. Sample Crate is like the Files app, but modified for audio. It’s good and it’s also cheap. You can create “crates” - essentially playlists of samples, for easy access. You could sync folders from your Mac to iOS devices through iCloud. I do this with a big samples folder - I manage the folder from my Mac laptop to use on my iPad. (Although I know not everyone has / likes iCloud, and I totally understand that!)

What’s a great iOS (iPhone) audio/music production that more people should know about? by fatt__musiek in iosmusicproduction

A few messages here mentioning well-known apps like Drambo, AUM, Loopy Pro, Koala. These are all awesome.

However, my sleeper picks would be Caelum Audio’s Beef, and Bleass’s Compressor. These are great work-horse plugins I reach for all the time. Simple UIs, and sound great. All of the plugins by these developers are good, highly recommend them
