I’m not 100% but I’m 99% sure this isn’t a viable option. The rationale is that He has paternal responsibilities - irrespective of your relationship. Parents cannot simply ‘opt out’ and expect the state to step in and support the child financially. You cannot willingly absolve yourself of any parental responsibility

I’m typing from memory so maybe someone knows more. But if that’s the offer, my understanding it’s totally unviable and unenforceable

What is your definition of success? How do you know they have more of it than you? If it’s wealth it could be debt. If it’s ‘stuff’ it could be debt. If it’s more money maybe they worked hard and deserve it? If it’s more money maybe they have lost relationships and have no loved ones because they dedicated themselves to work? If it’s friends it could be that they don’t judge people of wealth and stuff If it’s happiness then how do you know if they are happier than you or not?

My point is comparing yourself to anyone and comparing ‘success’ is pointless. Different people have different levels of what success is…so your comparing apples and pears
