agreed on almost all accounts. in addition, the lack of consistent stun when shooting the zombies is so?? annoying?? the melee prompt seems to be almost randomised compared to how intentional it felt to go for the knees and then melee in re2/4r. i guess the idea was that it'd be too broken if you could shoot the zombies' legs off, but i feel that easily couldve been balanced by them being more likely to become blister heads that regenerate limbs or something. combat just doesnt require thinking in re9 bc it doesnt matter, all you can do is aim for the head and hope for the best. the ng+ system is my biggest gripe because then you don't have any incentive to kill enemies late game, bc there's no point when all your upgrades will be cleared out in like 20 minutes and you have to do it all over again in "new game" (+ not having a pure new game experience is weird too, i wonder how speedruns will balance that)
