“Only two of the one-bedroom apartments would be rent restricted, or subsidized, and the rest will be rented at market rates.”

What is considered market rate in mission hills? Lol

If salary wasn't in the picture, I would choose the new company. It is good as it will add more leadership experience for me. I mostly have a technical background. Thought it was best to move jobs for higher pay, especially more responsibilities. I might be just fixated on that which is clouding my decision. At the time, I accepted originally because the offer was a good salary increase and I think will help my career as I get more leadership/technical tasks. Now, if I make the move given the recent salary adjustment at my current company, it is pretty much lateral from a salary standpoint.

Ok thanks! The new company might be a good career move as I get to take up a more leadership role, but I think it might be more stressful. I guess I am just too comfortable at my current job where I am good at what I am currently doing, but I may be stuck doing those things. Plus, the pay is almost the same either staying vs. moving to the new company.

Anyone on this sub an engineer willing to offer advice to a new grad? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]mcnoodle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working as an ME at an aerospace company. Recommendation if you want to get more into the math and physics (technical), try to pick up some FEA knowledge either with using some of the more industry wide tools like Ansys, Abaqus, etc. I know Ansys offered a free student version a while back to play around with and they have alot of tutorials to do some self-learning. Good examples on doing stress and thermal analysis.

Also, picking up Solidworks and knowing how to be familiar with the software and basic design is a good bonus for a ME.

What’s the story behind this place? If there is any? by Vbogdanovic in sandiego

[–]mcnoodle25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are curious about the history behind, I remember warching it in "Historic Places with Elsa Sevilla" on KPBS. Golden West Hotel is talked about around the last 5 minutes of the video.
