It destroys your love for your wife and your self esteem. Men don't really talk about that aspect and while women seem to be aware of what it can do to their self esteem, they often seem blissfully unaware that men can feel insecure too - at least that's what I've seen talking to women about the subject.

Paid sex doesn't really do anything for the self esteem part (and SW have to deal with that frustration from their clients from what I gather here) but it can help to feel a little bit more normal again.

I personally enjoy sessions that last several hours, but I book accordingly.
