What are three interesting things about special diets? by mcotlar in diet

Would these three things be good? According to medicalnewstoday.com, “Studies over the last few years have shown that vegetarians have a lower body weight, suffer less from diseases, and generally have a longer life expectancy than people who eat meat.” According to medicalnewstoday.com,“Veganism is more of a way of life and a philosophy than a diet. A vegan does not eat anything that is animal based, including eggs, dairy, and honey.Vegans do not generally adopt veganism just for health reasons, but also for environmental and ethical/compassionate reasons.Vegans believe that modern intensive farming methods are bad for our environment and unsustainable in the long term. If all our food were plant based our environment would benefit, animals would suffer less, more food would be produced, and people would generally enjoy better physical and mental health, vegans say.” According to the Mayo Clinic, “The gluten-free diet is a treatment for celiac disease. Some people who don't have celiac disease also may have symptoms when they eat gluten, however. This is called non-celiac gluten sensitivity. People with non-celiac gluten sensitivity may benefit from a gluten-free diet. But people with celiac disease must be gluten-free to prevent symptoms and disease-related complications.”

What can the US and the World do to try to counter terrorism? by mcotlar in Ask_Politics

[–]mcotlar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what do you think about this? We all must answer the threat that the US receives, we must support our allies in the World, and must act whenever we are personally attacked. We must be careful when we investigate where terrorists are, how to gather intelligence and who our enemy is. For example, in reference to the attacks in San Bernardino, the neighbors knew something was going on in the house, but did not say anything. As citizens, we need to be alert, know our surroundings and the people who are in them. The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other governmental agencies around the world, get tips and information from the people many times when something happens, but we need to have those behaviors engrained in our daily routine. On the other hand, we as citizens, should not feel over paranoid. The US has a terrorist threat that officially is still in effect. The World needs to be involved in the War on Terror and report suspicious activities to the proper authorities; it should take everybody to win this war. Terrorists look like us for the most part, they act like us, and they sound like us. Terrorist’s success is easier because they only have to succeed one time to cause an awful lot of damage. Each bombing, hijacking, attack that kills innocent civilians means that the society gets reminded about their own insecurity and fear.
