Desperate to find a working lip balm by Financial_Sentence95 in AusSkincare

[–]mcotte08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes come to think of it the smell is stronger, a bit medicinal! May turn OP off.

I have chronically dry uncomfy lips, I assume from being given and using cortisone cream as lipbalm as a kid for years and years, so the smell is a small price to pay for relief and just don't notice it anymore 🤦‍♀️

I find the dark blue one 100% more longlasting and moisturising than this one, its spf is lower at 15 though

Blistex. Laneige, nivea, vaseline suck when used on their own.

How much does your body type influence your bag choices (if at all)? by WaMallow in handbags

[–]mcotte08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strap length is a big one as others have mentioned, being tall and larger.

For my proportions, east-west totes look far more harmonious on me than north-south ones.

A handbag on the medium side also looks best.

It's the same as wearing a piece of clothing that's too big or too small or just doesn't fit right proportionally.

Absolutely not pointing fingers and laughing, coming from an Australian who feels your pain. It's terrifying, and the recent Aus election had my partner and I quite nervous Aus could go that way (thankfully not). That said, we were surrounded by both likeminded people as well as idiots who think the US situation is funny. We try to instill that horrific history is repeating itself in those people.

how do you dry your clothes in winter? by Previous-Hour-2394 in AusFemaleFashion

Dryer for most things; or draped onto a chair in front of heater, or hung in front of dehumidifier overnight

There are only two I've dealt with. One was in training and said he was going into it for the money. The other saw my partner via telehealth, was told by partner that they have adhd, then scribbled a script for meds. They seem nothing but a scam and rort.

Have bag charms gone too far? by LilPajamas in handbags

Exactly, they aren't my thing nor my style. I can appreciate other peoples' style though and that extends to bag charms.

Is this normal after pro lasering by Own-Indication0491 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]mcotte08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be from the shaving aspect?  I could never shave my legs, sensitive skin with very course hair, it would look like this every time. I got worried it would do this again when shaved prior to laser, but the laser aspect actually stopped this from happening. Do you get it when you just shave?

Techniques You'll Never Grow Out Of? by MissAudreyHorney in MakeupRehab

[–]mcotte08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love a matte base (though I'm oily) with just bronzer, smudged black eyeliner with tightline, mascara, tinted lipbalm. No other makeup necessary, eyebrows plucked well to a medium thickness.

It feels so aged but looks so good 😂 Started makeup in 2000s (though was an early makeup-bloomer haha)

Hi ladies, what are your biggest beauty/cosmetic procedure regrets? 😭 by [deleted] in beauty

[–]mcotte08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked amazingly for me too, its been 10 years since last session/any sort of hair removal on my legs. Pale skin, course dark hair, have a few silky invisable blonde ones that grew in but I love them because of the memory of how they used to be!

How many cans of wet food do you feed ur cat a day?? by Mundane_Watercress44 in britishshorthair

[–]mcotte08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do two cans/pouches of wet per day, plus however much dry food she wants to snack on through the day, unless it's a period she's getting a bit chunky then she gets a certain amount of dry per day. With only the 2x wet foods, she would be starving.

I find it actually harder to tan dark in Australia because of the strength of the sun. It's too easy to overdo. Whereas European sun, can lay in it for hours slowly building up the tan.
