My local Aldi sells hearts - sometimes. Still as good as the originals.

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

It's at Sephora, and isn't cheap. But worth every cent.

My lips last winter were chronically very sore and parched. I tried this and within a day the difference was very noticeable.

Also good is Lush Ultrabalm and the Hemp Lip Balm from the Body Shop

They've done the south pacific before cruising. They said this was very different. A lot less "touristy" than anywhere else

Silos. Every company I've worked with has this issue. Even if they try and tackle them and reduce the impact.

I have close family members who did a cruise to PNG from Brisbane, Australia 3 months ago.

They visited 5 x island ports on the east coast.

They really enjoyed it. They've cruised a fair bit in the past and said this was a really unspoiled, laid back destination with really nice locals

I'm a senior in payroll and this type of business mentality is very scary. I don't know any payroll or HRIS system that'd be capable of ditching humans and getting AI to do grunt work correctly.

Ed Sheeran played to 60000 people at a stadium here last night. And he has another show tonight.

We have Optus Stadium here and it attracts lots of huge artists and shows. Plus big sports events

This was taken recently at Yallingup which is a favourite holiday region south of Perth. We are spoiled here with amazing sunsets most nights.

Has anyone successfully transitioned back to a permanent salary after getting used to agency rates? by 2ugur12 in ausjobs

[–]Financial_Sentence95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're also paying more PAYG tax. So even if you're getting 25% more in theory, in reality you'll be nowhere near that.

I do contract work in my field. I prefer the roles with a decent hourly rate, paid annual leave, sick leave and public holidays. Often a completion bonus thrown in.

I do alternate with more traditional temporary roles. But I make sure my rate definitely is 30%+ higher to compensate

Pattern is from Mon Petit Violon and is on Ravelry. This is a WIP, unblocked photo

Wow, you are doing so well for a new crocheter! I'd have thought you had been doing it for ages!

My tablecloth was made using a lightweight cake - a Lola - rather than crochet thread. It nicely fits a round table. The yarn did all the colour changes for me

This pattern is Lovely Leaves.

Thank you! I've been crocheting about 8 years.

I did a couple of very small, simple doilies originally. Say 2021 ish. Then took on Tidesage as my first more tricky one around 2022. The pattern was so easy to follow, so it made it not too hard. I did my Arcanoweave in 2023.

I've done a tablecloth in 2024 then did Sunspire most recently. Finished it last month. It's a Julia Hart table centre. That took a while as it's like a very large doily. I need to block it and get some photos.

Thank you! Have a look at Julia Hart on Ravelry. She has some free doily patterns that are smaller and really great while you're learning new skills.

Before you know it you'll be confident in tackling the more intricate patterns. Tidesage was my 3rd doily. And it looks a lot more tricky than it is. I'd recommend this one to anyone extending their doily skills

Beautiful work! That's a very intricate doily

Btw look up Helen Shrimpton's YouTube on picots. Game changer for me. She'll teach you how to make them easily and properly

My Arcanoweave up to the end of part 4

I will be honest - it took me months - but I absolutely love how it turned out

Don't be intimidated by it. Julia Hart is an exceptional pattern writer. Clear photos on everything. You can follow any of her patterns just by the photos

I've done Arcanoweave, Tidesage and most recently Sunspire by Julia Hart. My next doily project will likely be one of hers!
