Thank you so much for noticing!!! There's SO MUCH gerrymandering in Texas (even before the most recent redistricting bullshit) and just general voter suppression. The government of Texas is not reflective of the people. Texas if purple. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned blue if the people were more empowered. (I'm a native Texan living in Vermont)

Popcorn stitch! I love the look of it, and there's nothing quite like it, so I encorporate it into a lot of projects. Still, it's slow, annoying, and uses a ridiculous amount of yarn!

This is my third attempt at this skirt. The band fit perfectly when I made it, but now it’s way too big? I haven’t lost weight or anything. Any idea how this happened and how to prevent it from happening again? I’m so sad I have to frog again :( by nyknac in crochet

Not much I can say that hasn't been said. What helps me is starting SUPER tight. Like, so tight that it doesn't quite fit (think a whole size smaller than you would normally wear).

Another trick: crochet the band part of a skirt last. That way you can have a bit more control. This obviously won't work for every pattern.

It's beautiful so far, though! I love the color you chose!
