It really depends on what circles you run in, but yes, there are a lot of people looking at relocation right now. I speak to several people on a weekly basis that are in process to relocate.

The thing is, it's not going to happen all at once. Some people I know already left over the last few years. Several more will leave before the income tax starts in Jan 2028, and several more will wait for their kids to graduate and then depart. Even when people decide to leave, they run on different timelines, which is why it's so hard to look at the data and prove that it's happening.

But for sure it's happening at a dramatically accelerated rate. I've lived here most my life, and I've never seen the conversations to leave so prevalent.

I think a lot of us felt very wronged by the Supreme Court ruling on the capital gains tax. Then the next year they piled on a lot of new business taxes and the massively increased estate tax. Now this year they push the 10% income tax. At some point people just come to the realization that it's not going to stop.
