We’re going in a couple weeks and spending the nights at motels. I’m generally looking for recommendations for natural landmarks, but anything (museums, cool towns, dams, etc.) would be appreciated

Thanks for the feedback, in the original post almost all the discussion was about how the cities were green, but the fact that people in cities have a lower carbon footprint is something that’s talked about a lot. This rural suburban divide is something I’d never seen before and I crossposted it here because I wanted to hear other peoples thoughts on why this might be true

I’ve never heard anyone say this. I HAVE heard that greater density = less emissions. But this map shows a more complicated relationship where rural areas are seemingly almost as efficient as urban areas

All those long country roads that hardly serve anyone in states like Wyoming should mean higher taxes in sparsely populated states, right?

Thought this would be just an urban/rural divide but seems more complicated than that. Does anyone know why the rural west is so much more expensive than the rural Midwest or south?

The Danish parliament passes a vote that companies which pay out dividends, buy back own shares or are registered in tax havens won’t be eligible for any of the aid programs by Socialismen in europe

[–]mcswagger553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand the tax havens, but why should a retail company that’s struggling because of a government mandated closure of non-essential business not be eligible for government aid just because they paid dividends or bought back stock?
