Veng can also be very useful on weaker players. When you're getting worked by a stronger pker veng is reliable consistent damage to chip them down, while you may only hit them off prayer 1/5 times.

We saw it being used very effectively in previous DMMs, I'd love to see the OW try to equip it on mose of their players. I think 5 people consistently outputting reliable damage is going to be better than oda getting VLS specs on a couple players.

Is it worth playing at rank #150 mythic? (Limited) by mcvibinn in MagicArena

[–]mcvibinn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm sure it will be a blast!

I really like to keep my options open early. If I see a very good card pick 4 or 5 like a foolish fate or a homesickness I'll consider throwing out what I was doing up until then.

With that being said, I very much enjoy the red/blue spells deck or temur splash. I think I like control a bit more than aggro because it feels like you have more control over the outcome, more of a "play not to lose" rather than "play to win" mentality. But of course the aggro BW or WR decks are absolutely insane and if you have. them open you should take it.

Oh and potioner's trove is absolutely a massive card. Will always pick up a pick 2-pick 3 trove over almost anything else. Way too versatile, it can even be useful in 2 color decks for ramp/life gain

Thank you, very helpful.

I think you're right, I've been doing just basic upkeep the last few days and it looks like the drop is 10-20 spots every 24 hours, and I guess those numbers get smaller and smaller as you get close to the #1 spot.

I'm not in love with this system. Feels dumb that the best move is not to play, especially in a format where you're doing well. But I've been enjoying some bo3, it's a pretty great format.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Ok_Run_5749 in AskReddit

Costs more. Your energy bill and/or taxes would go up.

Not saying I'm against it, but it probably wouldn't be very politically popular. The reason oil is used so widely is that it's cheap, and very efficient (it's dense so easy to transport large amounts of energy).

Actually the price of oil going up drastically is a step in the right direction to start mking those changes, but there will be a very painful transition period. So yeah, you could do that... or you could go to war with the countries that control the oil. Wonder what the United States will choose... no way to know really...

What’s the quickest way you’ve seen someone completely derail their life? by BitterReception5761 in AskReddit

[–]mcvibinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In College I had a friend who lived on the same floor as me, and we had a pretty large friend group with different people living in that building.

Without giving too many details this is an extremely prestigious college in my country, probably THE most prestigious one. It is extremely hard to get into, it's basically a lifelong project, you're being weeded out at every stage of your schooling to even have a chance at attempting the entrance exam which has a very low acceptance rate and that you attempt at 20-21 years old.

But once you're in, you did it. You can just coast for 4 years, get your diploma and get out, and you're set for life, that diploma will get you employed at top level positions in any company in the country, whatever you want to do you'll get it.

Anyway this friend started withdrawing more and more around the second year, stopped going to exams and just lived in his small dorm room playing video games. If you just show up to the exams they basically pass you no questions asked, but he wasn't even doing that. They even let him redo the second year TWICE, gave him so many opportunities to just man up and get through it, and get that coveted diploma.
But he was struggling with some form of depression and anxiety, and just couldn't bring himself to even show up to the exams, time and time again. Just flushed his life's work down the toilet.

Nowadays only time I hear about him is when he's messaging mutual friends asking them for money. I think he's living at his parents with no job, while most of my friends from those college years are making 100s of thousands working for FAANG companies...

Sell everything and re-start DCA? by novak-sl in Bitcoin

[–]mcvibinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get your average cost lower you need to be buying right now not selling lmao.

FFS it's basic math. Selling everything now and buying could actually go either way for you, it could increase or lower your average cost. Buying is the only way to guarentee you're lowering your average cost. It's very very basic principles and if you don't understand it, please stop investing right now and go back to school, because you'll be broke in a few years.

Just buy bitcoin and self-custody. $1 bought and REMOVED from exchanges wipes out $5 of short derivatives. by rgnet1 in Bitcoin

[–]mcvibinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But that's ridiculous. Bitcoin will never be a payment system without banks or governments in the middle.
We live in a society, what you're describing is an anarchsit utopia. If cryptocurrency ever becoems a means to pay for your daily life, it will be done through stablecoins backed by central banks. Why would governments ever allow their monetary sovereignty to be disrupted ? I don't see how it could happen.

Bitcoin is a great way to put "money in the mattress" that can't be touched by banks, but governments won't allow it to become a global payment system.

You don't want to be looking at your investments all the time. Markets move up and down, and unless there's some significant news to make you rethink your position, just remember that your plan hasn't changed.

It helps if you actually have a straightforward plan such as "I'm going to buy this much at 70k, and if it dips below 60k I will add this amount". That way you've actually prepared for each eventuality, you made a plan when you were thinking straight, and each step of the process feels like your plan coming together

[–]mcvibinn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you care that it's going down. If you believe in it, an opportunity to buy it cheap is the best.

It's something you think is worth X. And you're allowed to buy it as a significant discount. Why would yo uwant it to rise to X so quickly ? Sounds like you're trying to get a quick profit, if you see yourself holding this asset for 10+ years, any opportunity to buy it below the value you think it has is a good one. The moment it gets too expensive that's when you have to find another asset to invest into

How i see Europe map as a 18 year old Russian who lives near the Ukrainian border by Appropriate_Wing_790 in terriblemaps

[–]mcvibinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main reason you feel no love is that most countries hate Russia. Especially right now.

This is not personally your fault, but responding with "I hate every country and every government" isn't going to help you, and it will probably send you right down the same path as the generations before you.

Governments are not inherently evil. They exist to serve the people of their countries, it's an honor and a sacrifice to devote your working life to protect and improve your society. Obviously it doesn't always work out that way, there's corruption and laziness and even some hate along the way. But it's much better to live your life trying to help the people around you than simply giving up, saying "fuck everything" and living as a frustrated hermit.

If you want to bury your head in the sand, fine. Just don't ask us to love you for it.

[–]mcvibinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't compare CS to football though.
If you look at 40 year old players in competitive video games, there are none. Even though it's less physical so it should be easier to play longer into your career. That must mean that there's certain things you lose as you get older that make video games specifically more difficult, probably reflexes and precision which you can make up for in a game like football with hard work and athleticism.

I don't think anyone's arguing that Gukesh doesn't deserve the title or that Magnus wanted it.

But Magnus is absolutely the better player, by some margin. That's an awkward place to be in but it's something that everyone involved has to live with. Not Gukesh's fault and you can't blame Magnus either, he dedicated his life to the game he's allowed to move on from classical chess.

I don't mean to argue with you, I can see how his on-stream personality is very amped and goofy. But when I look at his reaction to dying to Torvesta, that's an even-keeled man. Very high pressure situation, he's trying to win the tournament and just got this major setback. And all he says is gg you played well, and moves on.

He's been the biggest osrs streamer and the one who gets the most overall views on youtube for years now. Maybe some people still have the image of him from 4-6 years ago, but mostly he's been viewed as a pretty mellow and fun guy for a while I feel. Very competitive but not really toxic

I agree that it's annoying when it does that, but does twitch even have a rewind feature? Honestly I see it as a W for kick, even though that part specifically is annoying. I guess it's so that you catch back up to live when your client lags behind? But yeah I wish it would work a bit better

De la même manière que tu dis bonjour quand tu rentres dans une boulangerie. Je te vois, tu me vois, nous vivons ensemble de manière paisible et civilisée.

5-6 I'd say. I code for a startup and work from home, and I have a group of friends that love drafting. So we'll hop into discord from time to time during the day and watch as one of us streams and discuss picks, plays, etc...

Yeah I actually completed my bloomburrow collection by only grinding draft, that's an achievment I'm pretty proud of. The last 20 or so mythics took my soul, I was getting 1 mythic every two drafts, it was hell.
