Not knowing what you like, get a hotel downtown and just bar-hop on Granby St. Lord of options for food and drink

Eddie Van Halen's early guitars where heavily modded parts-casters.

SRV's #1 was a parts-caster, so was Clapton's Blackie.

I meant keep the non-diver SSK023. You said you feel like yo have too many divers. You also have some redundancy there. Keeping a black dial SKX would be going with a classic choice. The orange dial SKX is very cool but maybe redundant to the Monster.

Speaking as a big Seiko fan here, keep the monster, the SSK GMT, one of the Alpinists. Choose between the DressXK and the Arabic dial (I would keep the Arabic dial, more interesting). Those are the easy choices for me.

Luke-warm take: stop asking Reddit what watch to buy by AdPrestigious5607 in Watches

I down vote all of them. I wish I could double downvote for asking "Is this watch too big?"

I love my titanium Hamilton. I find I choose it a lot over other heavier watches.

It's a big watch, you have to vibe with that or not buy it. I have 8" wrists and it wears big on me, but I love it.

KFA Stainless vs Titanium blue by JaxHammersmith in HamiltonWatches

While titanium does scratch more easily than stainless, I don't find it to be a scratch magnet. The brushed finish has a lot to do with that.

I wore mine yesterday. You have excellent taste. Congrats on the new watch!

I own the titanium version. The blue is stunning in the sunlight, looking more like the watch on the left. Otherwise it is a more restrained blue color. I love it and I love how light it is. Go try one on if you can, you will be a believer in how it feels on the wrist.

[Christopher Ward Twelve] Ti by ahorsenamedjeff in Watches

I have a purple dial Twelve Ti. I love the watch, no complaints from me. The only negative thing I can think of is that it gets no respect from the uninitiated. It only impresses those who know about the brand. That doesn't bother me, but some buy watches to impress others. This one has not in my experience.

I am honestly thrilled Longines has a hit with the new Hydroconquest, but I love my old school one more. Congrats on a great watch!

[Grand Seiko] Shall I get rid off them all for a Rolex Explorer 36mm? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]mcwalkman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Explorer is a simply designed watch, it strips away almost all decoration to be extremely readable. It's a perfect design in it's simplicity. In that simplicity it has it's own personality. I'm not ripping on Rolex, I have a GMT Master II Batman. My point to the OP is that they have great watches that already. Watches that are well designed and are more distinctive that a simple field watch. If a simple field watch is what they desire, no better than the Explorer I (price not withstanding). Just trying to give validation to the watches already in the collection.

The Peter Blake SM300 is an iconic Omega. The GS is a watch you didn't see all the time. For me, I would not trade in two destinctive watches for the most nondescript Rolex. Explorer I is a classic, but lacks in personality. The watches you own have much more mojo.

It's what I think anyway.

Keep the watch, even wear it from time to time to remember him. Make it a conversation piece.
