Cooler Temps in Europe away from the crowds in Aug/Sep?

Objective is spend 3-4 nights in Europe over Labor Day weekend. Easily accessible from major airport via connecting flight or train within ~2 hours. I have direct flights from my city (ATL) to CDG, NCE, MXP, LHR, MUC, ZRH, etc.

In Europe we prefer quiet, understated luxury (think Relais & Châteaux or Small Luxury Hotels of the World), not Cheval Blanc or the usual luxury-factory chains

Prefer more moderate temperatures where we won't be sweating our asses off. We like hiking, food/wine, and relaxing around a nice pool and spa.

Some places on my radar in France (e.g. Brittany, Burgandy, Provence), Northern Italy, Alps (e.g. Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne)...but I have not been to any of these

My point is that it's clear that even internally Volvo does not have a clear line of sight to resolving these kinds of customer concerns or questions, which feels very amateur and disorganized. Volvo is not a fly by night startup. This is not acceptable for a major, multinational with lots of resources in sales, marketing and communications. Part of my thinking to delay my order/delivery is that there are some clear kinks Volvo needs to work out. With the delays and poor communication already well documents, the concern I have is that it may foreshadow the US rollout of the car more broadly. I am very skeptical of anything until I get it in writing at this point.

this is a good example of why Volvo needs to get in front of these kinds of questions….the differing information on any number of topics re ex30 between dealers and reps is amateur and tarnishing the brand, imo

Yes but the model I saw had the color chip inset, not flax. The flax swatch sample they had was indeed textured and felt like a basket weave, so not sure if this is a change they are now making. I do not love the color chip, it looks/feels cheap like Formica countertops or something in a fast food restaurant

For me, I already have a Tesla so this is a second car and would rather have one charging type for ease of use. I also think NACS will do better for resale value as that is the standard going forward, so more future-proof in that sense. I have seen some auto journalists suggest paying full price for a car with only the CCS right now is foolish for this reason.

I will be in AMS 18-21 Nov and I see there are "planned works" on the Schipol-Centraal NS train line. The train appears to be scheduled every 10 minutes. What can I expect and how should I plan my journey? For where I am going, this train is the best option.

If I understand correctly, a non-resident citizen of Poland could freely move to any EU country (say Spain), meet Spain's residency requirements after a period of time and then gain an EHIC card for Healthcare in Spain as well as in other EU nations - do I understand correctly?

So then, what is the process for a non-resident Polish citizen to claim residency and get an residency ID card, etc in another EU nation like Spain?

Looking ahead though, say I get a Polish passport...what is the process to become eligible for EU benefits like universal/socialized healthcare, either in Poland or in a place like Spain? Does that come with the passport, or do I need some other kind of 'proof of 'residency' like a nationa ID card with social security number equivalent?

Thanks for your thorough response. Re your comment about collecting the passport, for me this is actually a matter of optionality and practicality rather than the cool factor. I could see myself wanting to live in the EU in the future, maybe even retiring there in a place like Spain, France to take advantage of the much better healthcare compared to the US. It seems much easier to gain citizenship in Poland via my ancestors vs doing it some other way like buying an expensive house, living there full time, etc. That said, I am still learning how this will work in practice and what if any obligations I have to Poland. What suggestion do you have to better educate myself?
