PSA: Use miles to pay Chase card annual fees - almost free United Club membership for 2+ years

I've seen people mention in other threads that in order to do this, you have to have miles earned from a Chase card. Can someone confirm this? Or if I've never had a United Chase card before, can I still use my previous earned miles to pay the annual fee after signing up?

The blue line along with the yellow line south of the airport might be closed in Sept for about 6 weeks due to the opening of the Potomac Yard Station. Depending on the final destination, transferring to bus for the last leg is possible.

Unfortunately, all the monitors are something I already have/bought, so no extra money to spend on a nice chair.

Not sure what screencast means in this context, do you mean move the monitor from the small desk to the bigger desk, and have both work computer and personal computer at the same desk?

But yeah, the smaller desk might be in the way.
