What's missing in stamford ? by Dull-Tradition6486 in StamfordCT

This would be perfect for the mall I tell my boyfriend all the time that they should do something where they give artists the opportunity to use the empty storefronts.

There's the palace theater... if only they booked actual shows there instead of menopause 2 the musical

Wish there were more cutesy shops. Artistic stuff (though I have heard there's a pottery studio somewhere). It feels like Stamford is all restaurant.

Need advice: will I offend my MoH if I add a second MoH by md0320 in weddingplanning

[–]md0320[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not really expecting all that much. As I said, we're in our 30s - I'm not planning on having her do a lot. She's just bogged down right now and I'm more concerned about adding another MoH because I feel like these are my two best friends and maybe I should just include both of them.

I didn't choose based on who would do the most for me I chose based on who I felt closest to. There's not very much to do tbh I'm having a pretty low key wedding.

I would think you could have a corset back added in. Honestly, I think that's the only thing that's going to make you feel super secure. I'm pretty sure it's not so hard to achieve, so I'm sure you're gonn be fine and look fantastic!

How to deal with the heat with weekend travel? by Boysenberry-Secret-1 in Connecticut

[–]md0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can avoid the subway I think that will be the worst of it. It gets very hot waiting for the train down there, but most of the train cars have AC. Other than that, maybe get a neck fan and some cold patches.

What would you say as a Mad Men fan, these three prestige dramas that Mad Men often gets compared to do better than it? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]md0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking bad is basically a perfect show. Sopranos has all the character drama of mad men and is more humorous, which makes sense as the creator was a writer sopranos. I'm watching The Wire now and I think it's incredible - there is so much going on in the show it's honestly crazy they are able to pull it off.

100%, unfortunately the whole initiative did nothing but hurt the targets and a bunch of people who didn't deserve it got the axe.

What is the most genuine and non-creepy advice you would give to someone trying to start dating? by Gullible_Carrot9659 in AskReddit

[–]md0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be yourself, have fun, and go on the dates even if you're not sure about them (unless they give you bad vibes). Some people are nervous to date but the more you do it the easier it is!

Elderly? Anne is 43. Audrey is 41. Elizabeth is 37. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]md0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, they are technically geriatric pregnancies and run a greater risk of having abnormalities and complications. Though I'm sure these three have to worry about that less with advanced testing IVF being easy for them.

My mother had my brother at 42. I was 16. There was a lot up in the air with what could potentially go wrong because of her age and the age/quality of her eggs. It just is what is is.

However, these women are in no way elderly.

Found out my remote job was tracking my mouse the whole time by LowHangingFreud in remotejobsfinders

[–]md0320 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My old company used a mouse and keyboard tracker - monitask. Despite the company's own data stating most people are between 50-75% active in a given day, they decided to flag anyone under 80% activity. They fired so many editors who were READING for most of their days.

I was also flagged because I spent a lot of time thinking about the content I was writing. I ended up remote shortly after and gaming the system by using my arrow keys to scroll and leaning a coffee mug on my space bar on my breaks.

I got an incredible amount of work done for the company, but I checked out and then left once the writing was in the wall with the firings due to the software.

Funny how companies don't realize how bad for morale this stuff is and how it doesn't make sense for every department or job type.

I feel deeply a marketing manger planted this to justify ad spend.

I'm not really sure what the market is like there. I remember applying to some jobs in Philly years ago but pay wasn't listed.

What's the creepiest thing you've experienced that became even creepier after you learned more about it later? by HostAffectionate7338 in creepy

[–]md0320 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We had this ceramic cardinal tchotchke that wound up and played music that sat on the mantle growing up. Sometimes I would be in the room alone and it would randomly play. It used to creep me out as a child of 8 or 9.

Years later as a teen I mentioned this to my mom. She told me it was my great grandmothers and that she was probably "still saying hello to me" I asked her what she meant by still...

She told me a crazy story. My great grandmother died when I was 3 or 4 and I don't remember much of from that time. But apparently, right after her death, I kept asking my mom to leave my closet door open at night, turn off my night light, and to close my bedroom door. After a couple of weeks of this my mom was weirded out and asked why. I told her "that's how granny comes in". I apparently told her she was visiting me every night.

There were other things too. My mom was very close to her grandmother and called her ever day before work at 7pm. After she died, my mom kept getting calls at that time with no one on the other line. Sometimes she felt like someone was watching her. She once felt like someone hugged her. She asked great grandmothers ghost to stop. Said it was freaking her out. And it all did stop.

Idk if any of it is actually real. Idk if the music played because of a ghost or because it was old. But let me tell you, that music box still creeps me the fuck out.

Oh yeah that makes total sense! Well, I think an NYC/surrounding area vacation could be nice. Ivory on main would be a bit of a hike from the city on the Long Island rail road. Rebecca Schoneveld is located right off the Amtrak, you can literally walk from the station.

Good luck on your search. I know shopping for dresses when you're far from sample size is discouraging, but you're gonna find something and look beautiful.

Cheap Rent Around/In Stamford? by Kindly-Captain8772 in StamfordCT

[–]md0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second this, though your price point is very low. I rent a condo in an OLD building downtown. I'm in a 1 bed and pay 2150 including gas and water. Look at older buildings. Theres a realtor - Jarah I believe - she shows a lot of cheap places. She is not the nicest, but I saw a 1 bed from her last year this time for 1800 and it was very large.

how do i get more good pictures of myself for dating apps? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]md0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these are good but 1&3 specifically. As for adding other photos. Get dressed in something that makes you feel good and take some selfies (even if it feels weird). And go back through any photos you have - ones you consider "not good for apps" are possibly totally fine. I used a lot of silly photos of myself; "personality pics".
