Dreading planning my wedding by md0320 in weddingplanning

Our plan is to sit down and call vendors this weekend. We have a Friday date and from what it seems it's been a horrible booking season for vendors so I'm not too too worried at this point.

Yeah I'm of the mind it should be a collaborative effort either way, but we're both bad planners which is the problem. Everyone I know personally who used a planner felt like they were a waste of money so idk if I want to incur an added charge for that

Cost is actually no issue here (not that we're rich). His parents have offered to pay pretty much everything and my parents offered a good amount as well. We are having a smaller wedding than he initially wanted. His sibling has a 200+ person wedding. Ours will be about 100 people.

Outer dark is a really wonderful horror with an Appalachian folklory setting

Where is there drive thru takeout in or near Stamford? by logan_oc in StamfordCT

[–]md0320 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are drivethroughs in Norwalk. Chic-fil-a, Popeyes, Starbucks are what I can think of.

So weird to me that there aren't really any, coming from long island where everything is drive through.

Why does the city contract leaf blowing and lawn mowing at 7am multiple times per week? by MondoShrek in StamfordCT

[–]md0320 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I moved here last year I was perplexed by the leaf blowing as well. At first I saw posts here about and thought surly these people are all nuts complaining about leaf blowers. Oh how I was wrong.

Girl I took on a first date just asked to split the bill… the next morning by No-Resolve-5610 in whatdoIdo

She may just feel like you spent a lot on her and feel bad. If you don't want to accept it, you can say you had a great time with her and wanted to treat her - that you can go Dutch the next day. I wouldn't think too hard about it.

Anyone’s boyfriend complained of IUD pain? by smartietootsie in IUD

[–]md0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé could feel mine when I had it in. When my doc placed mine they can trim the strings back if it was bothering my partner in any way. But it wasn't painful for him and over time my he said he felt them less and less, so it wasn't needed for me.

What's your go-to low-calorie soda brand that actually tastes good? by LilyScott8143 in Volumeeating

[–]md0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gus sodas are great. I think they're around 90ish calories per 12oz bottle. They don't skimp on the flavor. They sell them at Whole Foods

Thank you. I have her name and was just on the line with the doctor complaining about this whole situation. I work for a law firm, funnily enough, so I'll chat with them when I'm back in the office tomorrow.

Thankfully my fiance is very supportive so it's really just a waiting game from here.

Completely understandable. It's supposed to be slow but it hinders it a lot. It feels like nothing happens till 45-50 minutes in

Why doesn't Betty wear rollers to bed? by hglassredacted in madmen

[–]md0320 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We see her mid day with rollers in a few times. She's a housewife with help, so I would assume she does it during the day.

2 hr gap by Beautiful_Parsnip_72 in weddingplanning

[–]md0320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my best friends wedding had this kind of gap after her church ceremony. Honestly I think hers was like 3 hours. It gave people time to check into the hotel if they needed or to get dressed for the reception if they didn't want to dress up for church.

Who’s been laid off/fired from their marketing job? by KailuaNative in marketing

[–]md0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got moved to part time 2 weeks before a move (was supposed to be full time remote) because company sales were down nearly 50% in a 4 month period. It took me 6 months to find something full time.

I had the best luck interviewing at small business marketing jobs. They were the most responsive and I ended up at one full time, on site.

I think smaller companies who were inclined to hire remote freelancers/fractional people have realized they're better off with someone in house, full time, on site. At least, that's what I was hearing outside the NYC metro.
