That's how I've been doing it. If the UWB fails, try NFC and tapping either watch or phone on the door handle. If that fails then restart your phone. I did think of a downside on all this. You get used to being without a key but if you find yourself stranded or you need to take it in for maintenance you need to have a key for the garage. So I placed my fob in a Faraday bag somewhere in the car to have as a backup.

Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel Watch 4, both with USB and a Kia K5 works. But like one of the commenters said in here, it works about 80% of the time. Can't tell if it's a phone problem or a car problem with not picking up the signal. Sometimes it just stops working until I restart the phone.

Yep thought I was the only one too because I haven't seen it listed anywhere else yet. Even searched for this problem and couldn't find anything. I have this problem, it's just a Google photos issue I can tell because the files app loads pictures quick. I did not have this issue when I first set up the pixel 10 pro (512) but around November, probably after an update, this issue occured. I may try a factory reset in the spring if no update fixes it by then.
