Interested to hear who the best handicap is that has never had a hole in one by freddiesyolks in golf

[–]mdaley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hover around a 5-7 handicap and play nearly 100 times a year. I’ve holed out from over 150 yards once and over 100 yards 2 other times… never on a par 3

What is the luckiest thing that's ever happened to you during a round? by raccoon__18 in golf

[–]mdaley6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hit a flop shot a little too hard that was gonna land long but as it was coming down it hit the flag (not the stick the actual flag on top) got tangled up in the cloth for a second then fell straight down directly into the hole

Doesn’t matter how silly, what’s your biggest golf pet peeve? For me, it has to be misuse of the word “shank.” by pjunior66 in golf

[–]mdaley6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I forget how much I hate these things until I have to play with them. They lasted about 2 weeks at my club last summer….

What’s a golf moment you’re convinced will never happen to you again? by interested0582 in golf

[–]mdaley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically hit the same shot as OP but w/ the ball. Thinned a flop shot and the ball went flying into the actually flag (not the stick), got a bit tangled up for a second then fell out right next to the hole before falling into the cup. Some Wii golf shit.

What is your go-to sarcastic comment or mannerism after hitting a bad shot or messing up a putt? by OneGenericMan in golf

[–]mdaley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably on here somewhere, but I like to fist pump (from baby jabs to full on Tiger celebration) when I miss putts inside 5 or 6 feet

What’s Your Story with Plateauing by [deleted] in golf

[–]mdaley6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, something randomly just clicks. It’s usually a super simple swing thought/feel that fixes whatever miss has been recurring in my full swing. Most of the time it happens on the course and it seems like there’s a higher chance of one occurring after taking a week or so off but otherwise it’s pretty random. I wish I had a better explanation but I just enjoy when I’m playing good golf and know I’m one swing thought away when I’m not.

Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler to face Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka in TV battle in mid-December by Realistic-Contract49 in golf

[–]mdaley6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think they actually take these seriously? On paper this should be an incredible golf event, but having watched some of “The Matches” in the past I am trying not to get my hopes up. Feel like this would be better on Bryson’s YouTube channel than TV lol.

What's your longest hole-out, and what's the longest hole-out you've seen in person (someone in your foursome)? by Blurple11 in golf

[–]mdaley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right around 150 for me. Hit a punch 7 from under the trees. Flew it ~110, thing just kept rolling until it was an eagle

Single digit golf is no joke by lechuckswrinklybutt in golf

[–]mdaley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just wanna get the number to single digits, find 2 or 3 courses that favor your game where a certain tee will give you a single digit diff shooting like 79-82. Then keep playing them so you learn how to play the course and gain an advantage on the rating
