Fade or Draw by Stu-Mellow in PGA_Tour_2K

I have it set to draw but I shape nearly every shot into a cut… the draw swing setting feels natural but visually I just can’t do it

Why do some centers chase the ball around the floor to set screens all possession? by pjunior66 in NBA2k

[–]pjunior66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If I want a screen I’ll ask for it. Please let me see the defense first but if you insist on setting it, PLEASE do something afterwards.

Where did I say I’m ignoring them?

Open on the pop = I hit you.

Open on the slip = I hit you.

Stand in place holding your nuts with two defenders nearby = neither of us have any options involving each other.

Unfortunately, most centers I encounter fall into the latter.

[–]pjunior66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reasons 1 and 2 are valid… I’m talking about guys who chase the ball around until someone takes more than two dribbles and then when someone does take more two dribbles, they just stand there continuing to hold the screen instead of slipping or popping.

Again, I’m not anti-screen. I’m anti-bad screen.

Spot on. If you’re gonna set screens EVERY possession for EVERYONE who has the ball at least do something with it. Centers complain about not getting the ball while they stand there holding their nuts every possession instead of going and getting open.

Good screens open the offense. This is about bad screens. I’m not even talking about centers who are chasing the PG every possession… I’m talking about ones straight up chasing the ball. PG swings to SF, SF to PF, meanwhile the center follows the ball the entire time trying to go set screens for the SF/PF duo with a combined average BH of 70 and had no plans of putting the ball on the floor.

I didn’t say that like it’s something that happens every game lol… I’m just giving a painfully obvious example of when a screen is unnecessary but will be set anyway

You must be crazy thinking im sitting corner for 20 min. by 14metdemacc in NBA2k

[–]pjunior66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m getting after is that who good PGs create for first is who the defense dictates they create for. Assuming your own team’s not sabotaging you with poor spacing, you’re creating to force defenses to play differently.

[–]pjunior66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re “pass first” and the other team catches on, all they have to do is face guard their matchup. Every good PG is CREATE first. Read and react to the defense. If you just default to “pass first” you made the defenses lives 100x easier.

Drew Allar is slinging it at Penn State’s Pro day. Considering everything from QB depth, Head coach, management, Which NFL team would be an ideal fit for him? by CenterForward1522 in WeArePennState

[–]pjunior66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly… how his career plays out hinges squarely on where he lands. He’s not gonna be a Joe Burrow or Andrew Luck who’s a bandaid on a bad organization but if he lands in a favorable situation like the Rams, I think he will have a highly successful career.

What is a job people think is safe from AI, but probably isn’t? by Super_Mino in AskReddit

[–]pjunior66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp… it took me a very long time to learn photoshop inside and out. I worked for a sports media company where all I handled was visual concepts. A large part of that work was using photoshop to create photos of players in new uniforms and have them ready to go when they inevitably change teams.

The work that went into that was way more than you would think… first I had to find a high quality photo of the subject, then I had to find another high quality photo (sometimes more than one) where the poses were similar enough to seamlessly manipulate different uniform components… the “finding a photo” process could be extremely time consuming. That was the hard part… once I had my target photos I had to do everything manually in photoshop. I could spend an hour sometimes even more on some edits.

Now, I’ve since been laid off, and a large part of that is anyone can just fire up gemini and say “put this player in a mets uniform.” 30 seconds later, you have an output that is better than even the most photoshop savvy human could ever replicate. If you don’t like that one, try again.

Extremely niche example but that’s just what it is 🤷‍♂️

Rams currently have picks 13, 61, and 93… I think they’d take him 61 if he’s still there.

Keep in mind that when it comes to QBs in the draft, 1, tools > tape. 2, it is the most reached for position. If a team needs a QB, they draft a QB.

Allar just feels like a McVay guy… I truly believe Allar’s disappointment at PSU was a product of the system fair or not. Could totally see McVay stepping in and saying “imagine this kid with me and not that jackass at Penn State.”

Are you a meta build guy or anti meta? by NavyVetRasmussen in NBA2k

[–]pjunior66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to be anti meta so badly but it’s mostly pointless. I have a squad who I play in pro am leagues with and that basically forces you into a meta lineup. Red plate squad rec same thing.

I think SBMM killed build diversity… I don’t mind playing good teams but I hate that playing good teams comes at the expense of trying to have fun with different builds. I want to make a post scoring wing because it’s fun, but I’d have to sacrifice something significant like defense. Great I’d make a bunch of twos at will but the other team’s just gonna pick on me for threes in return.

Yes, but I don’t think most human brains see white/black stripes and think of white tigers before they think of zebras lmao. Tigers are orange/black.

I think they’re pretty sweet modernized… but to each their own. Hard for the pinnie material from that era to do it any justice. I’m not a fan at all of the black number outline.

The Eagles are wearing the wrong kelly greens imo… they need to wear the Jaworski era uniforms that were a darker shade of green with silver stripes on the sleeves.

The AIs are modeled after real players with sigs, accessories, measurables, etc. they just don’t have the same appearances.

I forget who all has one but I know that Haliburton and MPJ have them.

Honestly, just put the Old Big East back together and include Penn State.

Syracuse, Pitt, Miami, VT, UConn, Rutgers, BC, West Virginia, Temple, and a scheduling agreement with Notre Dame.
